This technique is great for people who struggle with illness or pain also! It's an awful lot of energy to use at once snd so much bending/moving, I'm usually in agony after a full wash day!!
Yes exactly this...I’ve had a lot of problems with my heart in recent years (especially the last 12 months) and I find doing a full wash day/ product kerfuffle/ air drying or diffusing leaves me absolutely exhausted, and for some reason I couldn’t stop the frizzies regardless of what I did. I had it cut into a curly pixie last autumn, and now wash it in the evening, quick hair-dry, in the morning I give it a quick spritz (don’t soak) and scrunch in some gel and a bit of hair oil. Dries on its own pretty quick. Gently rake thru with fingers and NO DAMN FRIZZ! Hooray!

Yeah I probably couldn’t get away with this. The oils start setting in after about twenty hours. Would’ve a waste of energy to do it when my hair will need a wash within the next twelve hours
@@madinp1177 I started training my scalp waaaay back in junior high and now I only wash it once a month at most! It just takes a lil time and effort, but it's absolutely worth it. 💯
@@lolobrinkman3055 no that doesn’t work for everyone. I’ve been trying to “train” my scalp for twelve years. There’s only so much you can do. Oil production is far more related to hormones than anything else
I sort of did this today.I washed my hair yesterday, put leave-in, a little oil and gel, and braided my hair in a pigtails just to keep my hair from knotting on the ends. This morning I undid the sad braids and refreshed to style half up and down. My curls looked so defined and better than it would loom first day.
I shower and wash my hair at night. I put some leave-in conditioner and let it dry. IF I am going somewhere, I'll style the next day or the day after. If I am not going anywhere, I just leave it as is until my next wash day.
Man, I didn't realize this was an actual technique lol. I've been doing this exact routine for over a year now because I was my hair at night and I'm too tired/lazy to style it after I shower. Plus, it's pointless for me to style at night because my hair is always messed up in the morning and I'd have to refresh it anyways lol.

I tried this once but used a continuous spray bottle. One thing I liked is that it was easier to avoid getting products on my scalp, which quickly gets problematic.

Diffusing my hair is the most time consuming part of my routine. I don't want to do it two days in a row. But if my hair was finer and thinner, I'd try this method.
You don’t have to then! I just blast mine with the hairdryer after I wet it in the evening and it takes about 5 mins because it’s high speed and medium heat. Others let it air dry though ☺️
I am interested in trying this more because I typically don't refresh between washes but tried the other day and it looked better than when I style after washing. The only issue I have is I try to avoid heat and my hair takes FOREVER to air dry so I kind of like having the night to help it continue to dry, so I'd get annoyed wetting it again in the morning and having to then wait all over. I usually brush products through my hair so I would need it pretty damp, not just a few sprays of water. Also it seems my hair sheds a lot every time I brush so I'd be concerned about doubling the amount of hair shed by brushing at night and the morning. Definitely going to try it a few times though
OMG.. I'm so ahead of the times 🤭 I've been doing the wash now style later for well over 10yrs 🤣🤣🤣 I've always found it easier for me to wash my hair at night, it goes "floofy" unless I straighten it & who can be bothered with that?!! So much easier to wash & deep condition followed by a blast of medium heat from the hair dryer. Next morning I just dampen my hair, spritz it with either a spray curling gel or a salt spray product, then part dry with the diffuser attachment... I leave the last bit to air dry before finishing up with a finger dry/style/define 5mins... All over & done with in 20mins... Easy
I would love a list of products you use. Maybe you could do a wash day video showing start to finish and listing all products used. (shampoo, conditioner etc...)
Very TRUE about going to bed with wet hair. I do it a lot and I have a bad rash on the back of my neck! It comes and goes. Of course, it goes away when I don't shower at night~
My hair gets greasy AF if I get it wet in between washings. I just put the front+sides up on top of my head with several small hair claws-after curly hair leave in conditioner-and the back/length up on top over it all with a big bun claw. . . it dries overnight (because it’s lifted from the scalp, so dries quickly) and I can sleep without lumps under my head (“rag curls”) or plastic poking my scalp. Then gently separate the curls the next morning and it looks just like your very curly after. I use the LUS curly hair shampoo plus conditioner in the shower when I wash, too. I don’t remember the name of the leave in I use, but it’s $13/bottle from Target. (Not a good as the Shea Butter brand Curl & Style Milk, but I’m ash blonde and it turned the last 2 inches or so of my ends butter yellow so I had to change brands.) I never brush my 2B/2C curly hair. My hairdresser told me to always use a pick. That advice has saved me from what I previously suffered: breakage, and having to go get a shorter layering because chunks got ripped out and needing to be hid from view until it grew out again. And every hairdresser will tell you never ever ever brush hair when it’s wet! It’s 7 times more stretchy and will break off for sure, compared to brushing it when it’s dry.
This is what I do. I never have time to wash my hair in the morning because I like to sleep. So I wash my hair sunday evening and style it monday morning. Sometimes I will throw it in a bun and wait till Tuesday, maybe even wednesday
This is the second time you've read my mind. I needed to wash my hair yesterday, but it was too late to style, so I decided to just style it today. In my mind, I was like, "does anyone else do this? is this weird?" 😅
I fall into the busy mom category. A wash day is an all day process for me since I have a 10 month old. I need to do this more often. I would probably be more likely to do my hair 😂 thanks for sharing!
I've been gymming quite late recently because having to wash my hair after because I'm drenched (grim). Doing my full routine is a pain and I get self conscious of my hair drier for my neighbours so I take it downstairs. Might try this as quicker - will require me to also be a morning person for work though otherwise top knot life!
i hope this works for me. i work late shifts so when i get home from work i feel gross and wanna shower before bed (perfect opportunity to wash my hair) but im too tired to style it and itll be a mess by the morning. i like to use my mornings to study before im too tired from work so i have to keep my hair routine short so i dont lose study time. hopefully washing the night before and styling it in the morning will be my solution :)
I might have to try this, I wash and style my hair at night and it always seems to be a mess by day 2😂 if I start with a mess, it will only be an improvement
I've been doing this for years now, simply because I'm too exhausted after washing and blow drying, to go in with the curling iron. I just use some protector spray. Didn't know this was a technique.
First time I've heard of this but this is what I've been needing!! I have lectures at 9am and if I want to do some exercise before hand, there is no time to wash my hair and style/dry it! Buuut night before showers never lead to a good hair day. Definitely going to be using this :) Question, do get a proper cast on your curls? I never seem to get one, it just goes frizzy, am I just not using enough gel do you think?
problem is the flat top, no volume on top and back of head. Nice curls, but looks weird nonetheless. Also I wasn't aware that this is a technique, I thought it's normal to do it this way, especially with very long, curly hair. Air dry overnight or whenever, style when the scalp has recovered and you got rime to style. Last question - doesn't your hair get awfully dry with so much styling gel?
OMG this is my hair when I decided not to style it and let it air dry. the only difference is that my hair is shorter and I have bangs so the front is so frizzy it makes me look like sun rays. Anyway, thank you for let me know how curly hair is. i feel like every curly guru only shows the prettys things and that kinda make me feel bad about my hair (for real, most of the dont even show the back of the hair ???) amazing video!
My hair is basically normally what your before hair is but after a wash it's not as curly and pretty 2b-2c but I'm definitely going to give this a go! I'm still struggling to find a product that moisturises my thirsty hair and at least this means I could wash and do a mask Friday evening then do the styling Saturday morning before going out and it hopefully not taking all morning!
yeah I plop my hair with towel after wash and I leave it too long sometimes and it starts to dry so sometimes I just leave it till next day to style if I'm lazy....i always feel guilty when do this but don't need to anymore !lol didn't realise it was an actual technique thanks!lol
I think this is off topic but for me my hair are super dry the1st day i shampoo and i braid them after they have dried the next day my hair are not dry at all and i have amazing waves so thats what i do all the time!
Hii! How often do you wash your hair? I find it a bit hard to maintain my curls, because I only wash my hair once a week, but can I also do this routine after maybe 4 days? And thanks so much for all your advice videos🙏😄
What’s the name of your products you use again , all I was catching was Naughty 🤷🏽♀️❓☺️😏 would deeply appreciate it . My hair is cause curls & very thirsty leaving it to frizz easily & I love your ringlet look 🙂👍☺️
Heey, have you ever tried the brand curly secret before? If so: did the styling products of curly girl movement give you better results, or the styling products from curly secret? I have been using curly girl movement for over a year now but am doubting to try the curly secret line but don’t want to spend money on another brand if it doesn’t have that much of a difference
how do you get your curls so defined! My hair looks very similar to yours wet and scrunched but when I diffuse it goes quite 'noodly' and my curls tend to not really hold especially at the back! Any tips? x
Try finger coiling or finger rolling. My hair used to have the same problem. It was noodly wavy and straight at the back. Try to braid your straight hair when it's wet, leave it till it dries. Use finger coiling. Don't wear a tight, top bun. It stretches the hair at the back.

This works perfectly for me! Can’t be bothered to wake up early and shower and wash my hair in the morning
First time I've heard of this but this is what I've been needing!! I have lectures at 9am and if I want to do some exercise before hand, there is no time to wash my hair and style/dry it! Buuut night before showers never lead to a good hair day. Definitely going to be using this :)
Question, do get a proper cast on your curls? I never seem to get one, it just goes frizzy, am I just not using enough gel do you think?
problem is the flat top, no volume on top and back of head. Nice curls, but looks weird nonetheless. Also I wasn't aware that this is a technique, I thought it's normal to do it this way, especially with very long, curly hair. Air dry overnight or whenever, style when the scalp has recovered and you got rime to style.
Last question - doesn't your hair get awfully dry with so much styling gel?
love this!! gonna try this hack i didnt kniw how to style it and making it look that pretty
Trying this today! I had a long day of bleaching, dying, masks yesterday so blasted halfway then air dried today I’ll style 😁
Love this, needed it 🤣 it's almost midnight here and I'm just getting in the shower, so I'm definitely gonna style later tomorrow!
Love to do this when i go to the pool at the end of the day...
Can’t believe how long your hair is getting, it seems to have grown so fast! Your results look fab 😍
It’s grown lots! Been about 6 months since my last cut though! Thank you 🧡
I think this is off topic but for me my hair are super dry the1st day i shampoo and i braid them after they have dried the next day my hair are not dry at all and i have amazing waves so thats what i do all the time!
Love this! Doing everything takes so long!! Only thing is that my hair is almost complete straight if I don’t style it haha 😆
It’s the first time I hear about this technique, pretty interesting for me ! I’m going to try it, thank you ❤️
Hii! How often do you wash your hair? I find it a bit hard to maintain my curls, because I only wash my hair once a week, but can I also do this routine after maybe 4 days? And thanks so much for all your advice videos🙏😄
Good question. I might try doing it after 3-4 days.
You can do it whenever you like, as long as your scalp isn’t asking to be cleaned! I wash my hair every 3-4 days
What do you use on your brows, they look amazing
I will try this method though. 💜
I do the same thing. Style on day two, only. Wavy, low porosity hair and sensitive scalp. Poor me but it works.
It is still a pain in the arse to wet and style your hair,it is barely any difference to shampooing your hair ...
What’s the name of your products you use again , all I was catching was Naughty 🤷🏽♀️❓☺️😏 would deeply appreciate it . My hair is cause curls & very thirsty leaving it to frizz easily & I love your ringlet look 🙂👍☺️
They are linked in the description below the video ☺️
Which diffuser do you like?
Omg I'll deffo try this
5:31 technique starts
Hi.. you only use gel? No oils or creams?? Thank youuu
I gotta try, thank you 😊
Absolutely stunning hair.
Any tips? x
same!!
Try finger coiling or finger rolling. My hair used to have the same problem. It was noodly wavy and straight at the back.
Try to braid your straight hair when it's wet, leave it till it dries. Use finger coiling.
Don't wear a tight, top bun. It stretches the hair at the back.
Looks fabulous!!! 🤩 Which diffuser are you using?
Ooo I’m going to try this my next wash day!! Love your videos 🥰 just ordered some Noughty products!
Hi I want to watch you defuse your hair what settings do you usually use like cold hot lol hi also how do you do your hair on the 3rd day?
God another curly hair routine. I can't cope 🤯
lol "curlfriend" is cute. I need one!
Do you recommend gel or mousse? :)
Her voice is so soft and tender uwu 💜
Have you ever tried the CurlSmith products? I'd be so curious how you like them and if you feel they're worth the money!
Going to try it! Thank you for a great video. I have hair like this, am going to try it today.
Thanks for the coupon code! Looking forward to trying these products!
it might make it slightly wavy but not curly
Could you post all the products you applied to your hair.
FLOOOFY. love it.
Going to try this, my hair is always better on day 2. By day 3 it looks like yours did at the start of the video!
Does this help your hair dry faster because it isn't completely saturated??
Thanks for the video and another option for us curlies. I have just ordered some Noughty Hair Jelly using your discount code so thank you for that too.😀👍❤️
