I'm inclined to both agree and disagree. Arin's chemistry with Jon was unique. Jon era grumps was incredibly loose and unhinged. I mean, there was about 100% more close up mic screaming lol. I don't think I'd say stronger simply as much as I would different. Both are legitimately great.

To me, Jon and Arin was the real 'friends playing games together and saying random shit' while Danny and Arin is more actual comedy and TRYING to say funny stuff. I like Danny better.

I think it was actually their Shadow the Hedgehog playthrough that made me come back to it (because it was a favorite childhood game). Then I really came around and now I fucking love Dan! I think he and Arin have a better dynamic because Dan is a little more humble than Jon, and he and Arin really balance each other out. Plus Dan has lots of funny and cool stories and is just a really sweet, interesting guy! (Not to mention handsome as fuck and a good musician to boot). So I think it was all for the best and I'm so happy that I and the GG fans have accepted him into the family.

There was like a 4 month period where dan had a gallon of skittles sent to him and there was like 10 laughing fits where he was full skittles so it became a running joke
The main reason was probably that Jon left without warning from one day to the other, hitting the entire fanbase like a freight train. Danny was not really known at this point, so everybody had to deal with a new person they never heard off before. Personally, I would have enjoyed a smoother way out of this stuff. For example, Jon explaining that he has to move and wants to work on JonTron again, but to introduce the new cast of GameGrumps they would play a round of Mario Party all together. But all we got was the short thing in the beginning, resulting in a shitstorm and stupid rumors why Jon actually left, e g. that he slept with Suzie and shit like that.
I was not interested in game grumps until Dan joined, at first I thought that maybe I just didn't think it was funny before but then I saw/rewatched some of the Jon episodes. For me, I always felt uncomfortable when it came to Jon, he almost felt... disrespectful and rude. Maybe that's just his sense of humor, but he makes me feel the same sort of uncomfortable I feel around some of my coworkers. Dan never made me feel uncomfortable, neither did Arin actually. I guess Jon is just not the type of human I can mesh with personality wise

I watched it for a while because I knew who the two guys were beforehand, but after a while it was just two guys playing games and yelling at stuff. Then I was re-introduced to it some years later with some guy named Dan I'd never heard of. I was wary at first, but I really warmed up to the duo of Arin and Dan because of how they tended to tell interesting stories and complemented each other so well. Now I mostly watch for the two guys talking about life and stuff unless it's just something insane like Mario Maker or Battle Kid.

I can honestly say that Arin and Dan are the BEST gaming duo out there. They compliment eachother in a way that is really hard to do. It's just genuine and amazing. Also I'd love it if there was a course that trained you in learning how to develop a sense of humor like Dan. He's just in genius in all the jokes and things he says! My favourite Danny moment by far is when Arin thought he sharted himself and Dan asked "does this count as a Guest Grumps?" And proceeds to laugh extremely hard at his own joke
People hated Danny at first because he was a completely foreign figure in this. When people looked him up, it was during a time where NSP was a very low-budget, low-brow, immature band based around Danny in glorious sparkles and Ninja Brian as... Brian as a ninja. Once the fanbase got to know Danny past what NSP made him out to be, of course people would warm up to him. I mean, cmon. It's Danny.

Jon was the reason I stopped watching Game Grumps, I'd followed Arin since he started as Egoraptor making whacky-ass Cartoons back on NG and was excited for Grumps but Jon always seemed like passionate about it, almost bored at times. Then I heard about this Danny guy and I've been onboard since.

Dan is sort of the straight man in almost all situations, which is why it's so funny when he gets as angry as Arin. He brings to the table what was missing in the first year of Game Grumps.

Jon had jontron before game grumps existed, it was because of some conflict in game grumps that he left to pursue that character fully.

The main reason was probably that Jon left without warning from one day to the other, hitting the entire fanbase like a freight train. Danny was not really known at this point, so everybody had to deal with a new person they never heard off before. Personally, I would have enjoyed a smoother way out of this stuff. For example, Jon explaining that he has to move and wants to work on JonTron again, but to introduce the new cast of GameGrumps they would play a round of Mario Party all together. But all we got was the short thing in the beginning, resulting in a shitstorm and stupid rumors why Jon actually left, e g. that he slept with Suzie and shit like that.

I was not interested in game grumps until Dan joined, at first I thought that maybe I just didn't think it was funny before but then I saw/rewatched some of the Jon episodes. For me, I always felt uncomfortable when it came to Jon, he almost felt... disrespectful and rude. Maybe that's just his sense of humor, but he makes me feel the same sort of uncomfortable I feel around some of my coworkers. Dan never made me feel uncomfortable, neither did Arin actually. I guess Jon is just not the type of human I can mesh with personality wise
+avengefullgirl95 For me it's more of a personality thing. Often times Jon would be just as grump as Arin, whereas Danny is always trying to look on the bright side and play devil's advocate, which makes the times when Dan does get grump all the funnier.

+avengefullgirl95 For me it was that when Grumps was first introduced several years ago I wasn't terribly interested. I watched it for a while because I knew who the two guys were beforehand, but after a while it was just two guys playing games and yelling at stuff.
Then I was re-introduced to it some years later with some guy named Dan I'd never heard of. I was wary at first, but I really warmed up to the duo of Arin and Dan because of how they tended to tell interesting stories and complemented each other so well. Now I mostly watch for the two guys talking about life and stuff unless it's just something insane like Mario Maker or Battle Kid.

I can honestly say that Arin and Dan are the BEST gaming duo out there. They compliment eachother in a way that is really hard to do. It's just genuine and amazing. Also I'd love it if there was a course that trained you in learning how to develop a sense of humor like Dan. He's just in genius in all the jokes and things he says! I don't get how he can take something super simple no one would think twice about, into a hilarious work of art! haha he's my favorite person ever

People hated Danny at first because he was a completely foreign figure in this. When people looked him up, it was during a time where NSP was a very low-budget, low-brow, immature band based around Danny in glorious sparkles and Ninja Brian as... Brian as a ninja. Once the fanbase got to know Danny past what NSP made him out to be, of course people would warm up to him. I mean, cmon. It's Danny.

Jon was the reason I stopped watching Game Grumps, I'd followed Arin since he started as Egoraptor making whacky-ass Cartoons back on NG and was excited for Grumps but Jon always seemed like passionate about it, almost bored at times. Then I heard about this Danny guy and I've been onboard since.

I’ve been watching game grumps since danny joined and honestly they have an amazing chemistry. Danny and Arin know how to make themselves and an audience laugh, and how to bounce jokes off of eachother. They have a great friendship :)
Dan is better that Jon I stayed watching and enjoy game Grumps because Dan and Arin seem better together.
+Jesus Chavez So many people say that Dan is better than Jon, but I honestly think it's that Dan and Arin just have a way better dynamic. Jon is funny as shit, but he didn't complement Arin as well since they're both kinda "GOOPLY DOOP IT'S GAM GROOMPS, THIS GAME SUX". Dan is sort of the straight man in almost all situations, which is why it's so funny when he gets as angry as Arin. He brings to the table what was missing in the first year of Game Grumps.
+Ian Haskell I agree wholeheartedly. Jon and Arin were too similar in personality, imo, so it felt like the same gamer saying the same jokes twice. With Dan around, you get someone who is able to balance out Arin's goofiness, so it actually feels like two gamers with their own senses of humor.
