Looks really nice! With the attic door being in the garage I'm surprised you didn't hide the wires above the fixtures going into the attic space (if that was even possible given how small they are)

Looks pretty sweet. I think the reason that it didn't look bright enough in the previous videos is that when your camera is pointed more up at the ceiling it's doing some sort of dimming/contrasting thing with the bright white and the black background that caused it to look a little washed out or dim, but when it is pointed at the walls or other objects at a more normal angle it looks normal and quite bright. Either that or you had to adjust it in post to keep it from being too bright and that washed it out. Anyway, nice job! It looks fantastic.

I'm pleasantly surprised with the ceiling lights and the black background. Very nice! I like the baseboard lights idea. That will be a huge help in seeing under the cars.
You can get a small black hook and screw it into the ceiling so the rope and handle are flush, and the paint the rope and handle black. Only downside ud have to get a small ladder to get the rope back down. But I think it'll be worth it so it's not dangling

Only thing I am not sold on is the black sealing. Would the lights not be more effective if the the entire “Box” was all white and more reflective? Pluses you need to get that Lifemaster or chamberlain light switch!!

Yeah, I like what you've done, I think I'm going to go for that lighting scheme, my garage has very poor lighting, and the swisstrax will be clincher!! I have a hydraulic scissor lift which the Ferrari is too low to drive over so I'm going to surround it with swisstrax and that will sort that out!! Thanks for the inspiration and ideas Dan!!

I’m subscribed to your channel but randomly thought of you today and realized I haven’t seen one of your videos on my home screen for months and months and months. I had to search to try and find you and see you are still making videos. This algorithm is out of whack
The only way to guarantee it will notify you is to sub and hit the notification bell. Otherwise my channel is too small and the big channels will be all that show up. That or just click every video of mine you see and it'll train TH-cam to push my content to you
Yeahh those ligths are amazing... Expensive but amazing :) for the small gap in the lights in the corner just get a shorter one and thats it. Hope Megan approves the lights haha
I know the black ceiling is going to absorb a lot of light but with that many LEDs it HAS to be brighter in there than it appears on camera which I’m assuming was part of the point since you make videos in there. Camera settings maybe? In most of this video it actually looks darker in there than it did before. Are your camera settings fighting the amount of new light making it look darker than it is?
@@normalguysupercar that’s frustrating because I’m sure part of the reason you wanted more light in there is so we can see what you’re doing in videos and now with so much light in there and the camera you have, it actually looked so dark it looked like you were filming with no lights on at all.

It's 100% the camera. There is so much more light, that any time he is recording and it tilts remotely towards the ceiling, it dims. It's like pointing a camera at the sun. I think once he's filming like normal more at himself and especially pointed down towards the cars, you'll really be able to see how bright it is. Really curious to see how the hex light patterns reflect on the red paint 😲
Dan mentioned that he was going to do the floor lights on the perimeter. But I’m wondering when you are under a car whether they will really help or just make you want to put on sun glasses?

You're going to have to pay attention to your light filters on your cameras now when your record. Sometimes the video looks dark, other times good.
You are correct, also I noticed there is flickering in some video angles, maybe caused by these lights.

How do you replace individual LED bulbs on these when they inevitably die? I wouldn't count on replacement strips being available years later.

I thought about the too but I generally keep it closed when filming, mostly for sound and temperature reasons

I just bought me one of these awesome light set ups. However, I can't find anchors to attach it to the ceiling. Could you tell me what you used?
I used zip ties with screw holes and drywall anchors.

It has automatic white balance. It also changes the iso in response to the light
