    Love the attention to detail on the work done already, you'll need a heater in the garage soon though.

      Hi Paul and thank you, I won’t need a heater in the garage if it gets too cold as I won’t be in there - I will be in my model train room upstairs with air con set at 18 degrees all year through! 😉. Cheers for now mate. ………….Graham

      Thanks George and I’m pleased that you are at least getting something from the video. The overalls were a get-me-by set but I’ve got a new black pair now which are more suitable for the garage, the green really showed up on the video, I looked like a big giant leaf! 😂😂. Looking good so far Graham.I bet it will be a fantastic driving experience I bet she handles really well ,and great breaking unlike my old TF with drums all round, looking forward to the next video.

    • @mygentrybuild1974
      @mygentrybuild1974  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Many thanks Malcolm, unfortunately it’s one of those things that I won’t know until I drive it if it will handle well but it should do with all what I’m planning - we shall see! I think if I were going to track this car then I would certainly look into having discs all round but as it’s a road car then I think the larger discs and callipers with drums on the rear should suffice. Hopefully another video up in a week or so time when I will be assembling the passenger front suspension. Cheers for now mate. ………..Graham

    I'm really enjoying this build Graham I too might take on a project like this one day but for now I will enjoy watching you while building my own layout .

    • @mygentrybuild1974
      @mygentrybuild1974  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Brian and I’m pleased that you are enjoying this series of videos so far - I certainly am! This kind of project is something that you need time and the finances for so you are wise to consider doing this later, you will know when the time is right. There are a good selection of kit cars out there and mostly are of good quality but it’s very much you pays your money and takes your choice - what can appear cheap will almost certainly work out expensive, both in time and money - trust me! Cheers for now mate. ………..Graham

    Hi Graham Well it's looking good its coming together very nicely are you going to be painting the diff box red or black or leaving it as is Ie rusty red? As you have done the bearings at the front is it not worth doing the back one's seeing that you are going to take all that apart to see how good the old ones are? Keep up the good work Graham you are doing a great job.

    • @mygentrybuild1974
      @mygentrybuild1974  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robin, the back suspension will be treated the same as the front as regards the paint - black, silver and red. I’m undecided on the colour of the diff at the moment but it will depend if I can get something which I’ve seen (more of that later). The bearings for the wheels and drive shaft will be replaced if I think they need it but they are looking good initially but I won’t know for sure until I strip them and inspect them. The Diff is certainly going to be stripped down with all three bearings replaced as they were susceptible to wear so I won’t be taking any chances with that. Not a job I’m looking forward to as they are not that easy to replace but they have got to be done. I’m pleased that you are enjoying it so far. Cheers for now mate. …………Graham

      @mygentrybuild1974  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Davie, I made it a rule on this project that I would replace everything that was needed to be replaced for safety sake and also it’s easier to do now than later on when the body is on. I thought the boiler suit was rather fetching! 😂😂😂. Cheers for now mate. ………..Graham

      Many thanks Anthony and hopefully the next video will be more interesting when you see me install the front suspension. I’m a great American car fan including all those from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and Dodge was always up there with the best. What a great heritage you family have left behind, you should be very proud. Cheers for now buddy. ………Graham

    Hi again Graham,
    It's like a trip down memory lane for me and a another thoroughly enjoyable video. I am particularly looking forward to seeing the Vitesse engine being fitted with the new welded section on the front suspension turrets. That is one hell of a job, good work. Keep those videos coming my friend.
    Kind regards John Given Western Australia.

    • @mygentrybuild1974
      @mygentrybuild1974  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi John and thank you for the comment. The revised engine mounts are certainly a game changer as regards the handling of the car as it will bring a lot of the weight of that engine further backwards which will help any under steer that I may have, it will also give me more room in the engine compartment up front to allow for better cooling too, so it’s a job worth doing but as you say, it’s a hell of a job to do initially, a lot of folk don’t bother but soon regret afterwards. Another video in a week or so for the assembly of the passenger front suspension - hope you enjoy it. Cheers for now mate. ………..Graham

    Hi Graham - With the chasis painted black thats going to be a great contrast with the red. For a layman its interesting to see the build process.
    Cheers Kev

    • @mygentrybuild1974
      @mygentrybuild1974  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kev, the black finish that you see on the chassis at the moment is just a rust inhibitor which dries hard but is also pliable too, I will be spraying the whole lot satin black once I know I don’t need to do any more work on it so it will, as you quite rightly said, have a nice contrast to it against the red of the body. There will also be highlighted colours of red, silver and black on all the suspension components too which you should start seeing shortly. Cheers for now mate. …………Graham

    Like the overalls Graham. Well it is looking great so far and coming together nicely and once you get the new engine mounting brackets in place it will be one tricky problem solved. Keep up the good work, speak to you tomorrow. Cheers for now mate.

      Hi Geoff, he he, those overalls were a bit on the green side weren’t they! 😂. Got new set today in black which are more practical for the garage. The chassis is coming along nicely now though and I’m beginning to get my head around where things should go and how they should go together - not easy when you just have some boxes full of bits and pieces - all good fun though. Cheers for now mate and yep, speak tomorrow, your turn I think. Cheers for now mate. …………Graham

    Another great video summarizing where you are. Originally I thought you were going to go with disc brakes all round? Front suspension looks great.I am looking forward to the actual build videos to come.I have to say I am getting into this more than Lakeside which I did not think would happen!cheers PS this video dropped just as I was sitting down with my afternoon martini brilliant timing cheers and Happy Thanksgiving from Canada!

    • @mygentrybuild1974
      @mygentrybuild1974  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mark, I think if I was to track this car then I probably would have converted to discs all round but this is going to be just a road car so discs at the front and drums at the rear should be adequate although I may fit finned drums at the back. Glad I got the timing just right for you too and hope you enjoyed your Martini ! 😉. Hopefully the video for the front suspension won’t be too far off, I have most of the components to start now. Cheers for now mate. …………Graham
