5 Reasons You Need a Tripod for Landscape Photography

- While I've talked about tripods several times in the past, this week, I look at five reasons WHY a landscape photographer needs a tripod. There are certain elements of landscape photography that are made easier or allows more advanced techniques if you have a tripod.
NOTE: There are a couple of portions of the video where my video camera lost focus, but the information is still good.

Being a beginner photographer i was asking other photographers about which shutter speed i required a tripod but i did not get the correct answer after watching your video now am so much confident to take a pic using tripod

While I don't always use a tripod I definitely prefer it over hand holding. It's a part of the process I really enjoy. I've spent a fair amount of money in the past year and a half to replace my old heavy gear with with nice light tripods that should keep me happy well into the future.
That’s actually a really good point - the tripod I use regularly is fairly light and not an overly bulky tripod. Definitely makes it more enjoyable to use in the field than if I was using a giant, heavy tripod (which I’ve certainly done in the past). Thanks for the comment!
Thanks Jeffrey. I have a few good tripods but I rarely need one. I always have one in the car though, for those special occasions.
They can definitely be handy to have around. Stashing one in the car is a good idea - just in case!
@@JeffreyTadlockPhotography I do take it out when we get the car serviced. A few years ago we had the oil changed and my favorite tripod was gone. And of course nobody knew anything about it. In the same manner I once lost a high end starter cable set. The bottom line is, leave nothing of value in the car when someone else has access to it.
@@renoholland7090 That's terrible! I always worry about that as I tend to keep super valuable things out of the 4Runner, but I keep a lot of camping things, one of those battery boosters, hiking sticks, sleeping bags, spare clothing, spare boots, etc in there a lot of the time.

All good points Jeffrey, and well done. As you know, I have a love/hate relationship with tripods. I have a new head arriving tomorrow for ONE of my tripods, then I'll share more of my thoughts on tripods on video. Oh, what was up with your focus? Were you using your ZV1?

Weirdness with the z30 - LOL. I am not 100% sure what happened. I was switching between eye/people focus and wide area = but something was up! Unfortunately I didn't catch it until I was back home!
Hello. Kinda want to start landscape photography, so after watching many videos went out yesterday and got some shots. I put them in lr mobile, and there is a function called auto edit. If you guys know about it , what do you think of it?
Welcome to landscape photography! It is a great hobby and quite rewarding!
Regarding the Auto button, I might be in the minority on this - but I think the Auto option in LR has become better over the years. I will sometimes use it when I am not 100% sure which direction I want to take an edit. Sometimes I might build off of it, make some additional changes - or sometimes I won't like it and will revert the changes and take it my own direction.
But I think for someone new, the Auto function can work as a good starting point. Hit auto and then play some some of the other sliders too season to your taste.
