This one gets me every time. The little piano riff, the melody, the lyricism, the voice and the emotion in the way he sings, it's all phenomenal.

Her face, as she stares in his eyes and places his hand on her heart....and his face, as he deals with the flood of emotions while feeling that heartbeat, is some of the finest acting I've ever witnessed. Cudos to everyone involved in the making of this poignant video.
I must've seen this video a hundred times, and I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME. Peter Capaldi, the actor playing the older man (and also Lewis Capaldi's second cousin) is just superb in this video - he doesn't say a single word, but he doesn't need to; you can see everything in his facial expressions and body language. And of course the ong itself is beautiful too. Lewisc Capaldi is a truly great songwriter with a unique voice.
Wtf. I have gone this far without knowing Peter and Lewis were related, but now it seems so obvious! 🤯

He sings with incredible passion !! His voice is absolutely captivating ! He is my favorite male vocalist by far !!

I have watched that video so many times and still cry every time.
That song put Lewis on the map, with this video. They reshot a video with him in it after to introduce him to the world I guess... It's been 3 years, still on my playlist and still enjoying it every time it plays! And Lewis is also an amazing human being and, ironically, funniest guy in the business at the moment. He is relatable, and you can tell by the way his fans will call him by his first name, as if he was just one of their friends. He has got a new album coming in the spring, 2 singles are already out, and listening to his first album is never a waste of time because it's all good! Really, he battles with severe anxiety and tourettes and is opened about it, which is important, i think, with so many people dealing with mental health issues nowadays. We need more Lewises in the world ☺

I am glad I watched this video your reacting to while my Wife was running errands. I literally ugly cried at how sad this was! I feel ya bro, it's nearly impossible to NOT feel the pain in the words of the song.
This video is for sure a big production. Featuring his 2nd cousin Peter Capaldi, who's best known internationally as one of the BBC's incarnations of Doctor Who. This isn't one of my favourite songs from Lewis, but good grief, did it strike a chord with folk! Blew him up to the point where he sold out an arena tour before his first album was released! o_O
If you'd like massively cheered up after the heaviness of this , there's a great wee interview with Lewis on the BBC's Graham Norton Show which you should check out- it's not everyone who can just be himself & accidentally out-funny Jim Carrey on a chat show. ;)
Also, if you'd like to just appreciate the lad's singing without the distraction of a big production video, there's a great live capture of one of the first songs he wrote, "Bruises", with just him singing with his pianist sat behind him, which I reckon is one of the best ways to enjoy him giving a signature heartfelt vocal with zero fuss around it. I'm not asking for a reaction vid (which is just as well given it's a "vevo" job, & you'd struggle to get a reaction vid cleared!) - just treat yourself sometime. ;)
My oldest son ended up loving this song when he was 6.

This was written as a break up song, but this video takes in in a different direction which is more heart wrenching.
It wasn’t a breakup song. It was written about his Grandma passing away.

This isn't the full video, they didn't show the heartbeat listening with the train at the beginning and end--strange move because it makes it easier to understand the constant headphone wearing (wife's recorded heart beat)

@@BirdmansPlace It's okay....just after you stopped, the video went back to the old man standing at the train tracks with earbuds in, like in the beginning, and you hear the heartbeat sound again (like in the beginning) but now understand its significance. The old man actually recorded her heartbeat (in the scene where he puts the stethoscope on his wife's chest, you can see a little box on the bed next to her that is the recording device). Her heartbeat is what he listens to as he goes about his day. That you for a great reaction videos. I've watched others of yours and they are always great.

Look, new subscriber, fellow drinker, (take this with a teaspoon of salt) I would like to spill some tea, the, "as a fellow impath," is a cringe saying on the internet as a whole, but can be used in the middle of the video, as in, "As an impath I feel like..." and such. I still love your work as such, but the impath approach usually works with the same disclaimer as an opinion piece in the news.
