i think ur a bit off on the PVP, early game u don't have a lot of energy and ur overheat goes up fast and it feels kinda janky BECAUSE they want u to develop an aptitude for the base m1 combat, your moves, modes and passives that you get later in the game supplement the m1 combat making it easier to keep people in combos etc.
but how you overheating with 1, 2 or 3 godam moves early game? how you supposed to damage the opponent without m1 combat when your m1s deal more damage as a combo then your moves combined
and obviously they expect you to get used to the m1 combat since m1s is all your using early game since its a progression? your not gonna spawn in with all your generation abilities unlocked
In my experience the only people who threw m1s were Gen 2s and 1s, Gen 3s fully relied on their gen abilities which just made me mad, It probably changed since launch but idk. Another issue I ran into was the overheat meter never mattering in early game, it always felt like I ran out of stamina before my overheat meter when up by half.
that is a huge skill issue ngl, and I dont know how you overheat urself and lose energy early game when you only have 1, 2 or 3 moves, and you can always upgrade your energy and overheat meter using skill points
I'm in the mid game rn (around rank 30), and most, maybe half of, the fights I have with people close to my rank or a little above my Overheat is always on the edge bro, same for energy, I think it's just when u are low level (idk if I are or or not, just an assumption) u don't have upgrades in both of these (u usually get 2 in each to get the infused Augment to ur m1s) and don't have much skills, so the overheat and energy restore during the cooldown. And also, as a gen 3, everytime I can I'm throwing m1s and m2s at my enemies, intercalating with my skills (I have Excalibur), and most of the people I fight also do that, so it's maybe u only fought some spammers
