😂 If I actually got to see an AV just cruising around without a driver I would be exactly like those kids, as someone who grew up in the 80s this technology is around 24 years late 😂 and I was starting to think I would never see it in my lifetime. This is actually pretty exciting to me. Up next, those flying cars we were promised 😂
I'm very curious, I just took a ride last night (to show it off to my family from Ohio) and that got me thinking. JJ, What's your stats? How many Rides, Miles & Minutes all together do you have on the Waymo One App?
Waymo is pretty much stable now , it had reached a stage no one had achieve yet.. but what I'm afraid is it's just need a Single accident that could make the whole waymo operation stopped.. imo, there are some critical things Waymo need to do to be a level 6 Autonomous driving 1. Waymo needs to understand human language and behavior pretty well ... Example, we know quite well if there is a drunken man on the road or random animal is running around or we can even sense someone is normal behavior or not by looking at their eye and face on the road... This is essential for AV car to fully understand those so that AV can avoid any potential uncontrollably accidents like drunken man fall right in front of the car etc ... 2.. waymo need to know the road conditions as well .. not all road are perfect, some road might have potholes, water pond , or snow or any fluid from underground pipe which will make the car slip uncontrollably 3..Waymo / any AV needs to fully understand other cars' behavior as well ..let say if we see a car driving very fast with repeated horning behind us , we usually slow down, move towards side of the road and let it pass by giving free way to that car , .. or let say, if a car in front of us is driving very erratically or chaotically, we just stop the car completely until everything is safe ..I am not sure waymo can handle such situations though
Nice video Joel! It’s really good to see just how confident it’s got at things like lane changes lately
Thanks for the ride today!!! 👍🏿😷👍🏻🇨🇦🇵🇭🇺🇸
Thank you for being here!

Officially it's 174, 1821, and 5122 respectively, but I estimate about 5-10% on top of that from riding with other people on their accounts
@@JJRicks Not bad, that's a good amount of miles.
@@CorporalDecay 1821 mile is very impressive, it is a lot of miles
How do you get to ride in one of these? Yes, I can google it, but I want to hear it from you.. Thank you!
Sure thing!
Easiest way is to download the Waymo app 😁

Hey jjricks did you see the news waymo hit a person on a bike? Minor injuries and people are already blaming waymo lol. What do you think about it?
Yes, I would very much like to see the video
