I love hwo even in the Celebrity Specials they still recycle catchphrases from old series. 25:39 was the very first catchphrase from the very first episode back in 1985!
One thing I never understood about Catch Phrase was the five second rule on the main puzzle in each round. Roy would constantly tell players that they had five seconds to guess the answer, yet there never seemed to be any actual time limit. No buzzing out, and quite often they'd be pondering for way longer. Roy would even often talk for five seconds or more, after the reveal of the square, then ask the player for an answer which could take even longer than another five seconds. I've seen many episodes where they've hit over ten seconds in total. Ever since I was a kid, I've wondered why Roy would always mention that they had five seconds yet they never actually implemented the rule. 23:43 Case in point. Fourteen seconds before Matthew begins an attempt at an answer.
In the US version you seemed to get five seconds thinking time to the bonus catchphrase (which they confusingly called the super catchphrase), *then* be allowed to give your answer.
I've noticed that the TVS endcap went missing at the end, which is quite unusual. Pretty sure they've later included it in when it was shown on TV. Most of the episodes of Hitman & Her (Not produced from Television South), ends up doing the same thing as well by also including the Granada endcap when it was shown on TV that was not included in masters. (except for some 1990 episodes that did include it)

The IMDB doesn’t even say the names of the contestants of these episodes (it only says the names of the contestants on the Carlton era). I’ve intentionally omitted / left out the last series 1 episode (episode 19, aired Sunday May 25 1986) [yet again, filmed before then] as it’s a celebrity special. (exactly *the point of* why us Catchphrase fans are lamenting not being able to see the TVS era episodes here) Challenge are no longer able to repeat the episodes of this era (I think since post-2000); most websites explain why (hence, when it comes to Challenge, we’re forced to be stuck with the Carlton era episodes). I bet the TVS Catchphrase episodes will, unfortunately, never be found, hence it’ll be *impossible* for Challenge to have them again. I don’t even know *why* ADC TV Collection doesn’t have all the episodes of the TVS era.

An interesting insight. It’s the same with the celebrity specials hosted by Stephen Mulhern; they never properly enforce a 5 second rule.
