    In the army they emphasised the need for clean socks every day. And foot powder. Makes a big difference!

    New pants and socks are always an absolute godsend! Always good having a good weather day, nothing beats a good view on a sunny day! I'm slowly making my way through these, can't wait to watch the next one!

    Ditch the grenade bars & get some snickers 🍫lol. Lovely scenery on the trail, plus the blue skies which is always an added bonus. Loving your positive attitude on day 8. When do you reach the half way point? ☺️

    • @AnthonyJohnson1
      @AnthonyJohnson1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Rachel. I passed the half way point today. I did buy a few snickers today from the Co-op in the place I’m staying tonight. The Grenade bars are making me wretch 😆. I’m hoping to catch up on a few TH-cam videos tonight as I’m chilling out in my room. Looking forward to watching your first solo camp. 🙂

      I’ve been up Cross Fell today. Had zero views but the weather was ok. Threw it down after I’d descended though so lucky today. Wouldn’t like you have been up there in heavy rain

      @@AnthonyJohnson1 Ive got a couple of vids behind Anthony but really enjoying them. And will be donating to Mind soon. My wife raised a fortune for them last year and although I have no personal problem my wife is off work with deprrssion and my mother spent years in institutions and with no Father around my childhood was very difficult to say the least but fortunately I came out unscathed.

    I'm very envious of you seeing all these places for the first time Anthony. I'd love to recreate that feeling. You seem to be really enjoying yourself. Yes, spend some time in the Dales. It really is a place of wonder. Not only that, you have even greater superlatives ahead! Can't wait to watch the next bit. Cheers, Chris

      I didn’t go in I’m afraid. I’m a bit boring and don’t really drink alcohol that often. I’ll hang my head in shame 😆

    I was quite surprised to learn this is your first visit to the Yorkshire Dales Anthony, but good to know you've liked what you've seen. Malham Cove is awesome isn't it. That must have been really annoying to see Pen-y-Ghent in the sunshine the day after you were up there! I stayed in Hawes back in 2014, which was my base for a week whilst I was shooting some films in the Dales. I remember going for a pint or 4 in the Fountain where you stayed. I was staying in a B&B called Herriots, which was very friendly but small as I recall. Glad to see you enjoyed your walk from Hawes to Tan Hill. Hope you do return to the Dales some day to see more. It's another place, like the Lakes, in which I could live 😁

    Yorkshire Dales are looking great on this video. Thanks for sharing the views. Well done for editing and posting these videos every day. After walking 17 miles I would need food and sleep as a priority. Are you stopping at Alston? I stayed at the YHA there for a break. Nice base for a walking holiday and it’s an area that’s mainly overlooked by walkers for the nearby Lake District.

    • @AnthonyJohnson1
      @AnthonyJohnson1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Steve. The editing of the videos isn’t too bad, it’s the uploading that’s a challenge. I think TV has only just been introduced to some of the places I’ve passed so 4G and WiFi are still some time away! I am staying in Alston in a few days time, but I’m in a B&B as I couldn’t get into the YHA

    Love visiting Hawes, one of Mrs Metalman's favourite days out and you obviously not been to Robin Hoods Bay before Up North....The Yorkshire Dales are amazing but get caught out in the bad weather, it's bleak and can be miserable as sin, so real good to see you got a day of good weather and the tea rooms were open. Never been to Tan Hill before, despite it being relatively local and always saying we will go there one day but had many a pint at the Kings Arms in KS before. Good to see you had such an enjoyable days walking, cheers Alan
