    Week 17, just completed and held my single calf raise for more than 5 seconds. Super happy!

    SJ is a life saver! I appreciate you for taking the time, while going thru the pain, to make these videos. You helped so many people (as i read in the comments), and myself. I am in my 12 month recovery and i feel fine, just some stiffness, due to me going back to normal life around month 4, and i stopped stretching as much. thanks you so much, and for the newbies that just tore, FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS, Stay a couple weeks ahead (still follow week by week) of SJ videos, and YOU WILL BE FINE!

    Super helpful videos! Beginning week 14 today. Rehab guy discharged me at the end of week 12 saying he had no more to show me and it would just take time. So, your demonstrations and positive attitude are very welcome. I've had two major setbacks, one not long after stopping the boot week five. Took a wrong step and reinjured the tendon; extreme pain. Took two weeks to recover. And then a couple weeks ago pulling hard to see how much weight I could take, heard a little pop. But that only took a week to recover! Now I'm taking a recovery day every second day since I tend to over do, age 77. Intending to focus more on the calf raises.

    Nice videos SJ. I am in week 16 non surgical and similar progress to yourself. Week 12 onwards is the turning point where you aren’t obvious injured, swelling decreases and recovery seems to happen faster. Flying and very hot weather are not good for the leg though!

    Hey SJ! I'm currently at week 17 and a half now, you actually inspired me to go the non-operative route so a huge thanks! I was wondering if you've ever come across advice on when it's best to start driving? And when it's safe to do full press ups?
    Just saw your three year anniversary video and I'm so thrilled for you man! All the best from London

    Thank you so much! I’ve been struggling for 1 year now after rupturing my Achilles - my fault as I didn’t focus on rehab. I can walk fine but I cannot do a single calf raise yet! Looking forward to consistently doing these exercises to achieve a single calf raise

    Is it normal to still have some "solid" feeling on the ankle? When did you get rid of it? I feel now more pain around my ankle and side bone than in the Achilles tendon itself...
    I'm on week 11...

    I am at week 15 with severe tendinitis . I’m really frustrated with my PT. I feel like they transitioned me from boot to tennis shoe with no lift too soon. PT added in an insane amount of Dorisflexion. They told me I should be at single calf raises at 15 weeks. I’m barely at standard calf raises with pain. They have told me to go back in the boot for two weeks. I feel like this is a step back and will wreck my calf. Where did you find your j formation on doing isometric, massage and avoid dorsiflexion?

    SJ, I have been referencing your information and have found it very useful in recent accident I experienced, thank you, I do see a physical difference in achilles appearance that seems common with this injury, in other words, it appears that the tendon takes on a wider look, do you agree with the assessment? Thanks again, Mike

    Hello, SJ at what month do you think it is possible to go back to work for someone that is employed considering that the job involves a lot of activities like standing, walking and lifting heavy objects?

    How long did your Achilles tendonitis setback last? I just got a flare up in week 17 , it's really painful to walk. Such a bummer, recovery was going good 😕

    • @SJachilles
      @SJachilles  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      imranr it took me a good couple of months to completely get rid of it. The key in the end was a heel raise in shoes, ibuprofen and isometrics.

    I appreciate your videos. I watched them all. I tore mines 3-24-18, so I'm almost a month in. I decided to go the no-op route as well. Your videos have given me a little more confidence since I was a little skeptical about not having surgery. At which week did you get a positive thompsons test result?

      Hi Lawrence, I think I got my first positive Thompson test at week 8 and you will see it in that video.

    • @SJachilles
      @SJachilles  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stiffness takes a long time. You need to get to 8cm of dorsiflexion before you can walk pretty normally.
