Honda City 1.3 Prosmatec AT (L13A/ 98Bhp/128Nm)
As one might expect the launch on the Honda's Conventional Prosmatec system was incredibly competitive. CVT's tend to have a delay at launch but once rolled to high rpms they are able to stay on peak horsepower. City has slightly more torque than Yaris which lets it take the lead in the start but to our surprise stays ahead till - as we tested - 165Km/h. In the rolling race Yaris absolutely eats the City using its modern and consistent revving CVT with no time lost in shifting delays and takes the win in rolling races from all speeds. Both cars were incredibly competitive.
FUEL AVERAGE - After performance these cars are obviously in the economical segment, and in which the Yaris using its CVT gearbox and Eco Engine has far better average points than the Automatic City, Yaris scores around 12-15 in city and 14-16 on highways whereas the City in city gets around 10-12 and on highways 13-15.

From a rolling start yes city lost coz of old torque converter transmission but from a standstill in manual mode City won L13Z1 with a CVT > 1NR-FE any day of the week

@daniyal muhstaq honda city has ha soft limiter at 4000 rpm it doesn't go beyond that when in neutral and yaris was revving at 6500 rpm. if would have been this reving that much it would shaked same like yaris engine did

@@Awanyt7 yar gli looks horrible and is extremely sluggish and gives terrible fuel economy, gli is the outcome of pakistani company's getting away with producing gardbage (I mean the gli that came after 2014, the one before that was still okay) And due to terrible sales and backlash, the car was destined to be discontinued

@@Awanyt7 I agree with you, I have driven the 2011 gli and honestly it was a nice drive and engine was fast enough for basic needs like city and highway driver but after the 2014 faceuplift the car was extremely underpowered due to the bigger size shape and weight and worst airo dynamics causing more drag and resistance, because of this, the fuel avg also suffered and the engine constantly felt like it was strugling whenever you tired to move from an stop and it was a struggle to drive on long distances, when it comes to removing it from the makret, while making the grande seem more attrtactive by removing gli was a reason but the main reason was due to the terrible sales of the car

My brother yaris was manual and city was auto so basically it wasn't a fair race either yaris 1.5 is nice car but this was 1.3 so basically city has vtec so it was a fair race

We need a Altis 1.6 auto vs Yaris 1.5 ativ x cvt coz it would be interesting to see Altis having a little more cc, horsepower and torque competing against Yaris cvt with the old 4 speed conventional Torque converter transmission coz the Yaris is lighter weight with newer tech and a Cvt so I bet it will be a good race
This will actually be an interesting race! We are looking for a 1.5 Yaris so we can finally put the two head to head and find our which will win considering their specs and weights.

Honda has found a good recipe in it's L series engine platform since 20 years now. If Yaris had a conventional AT it would be close on launches and loose on top end. Instead the CVT gave it advantage with less power during a roll on.
CVT is mostly murda on start having experienced this on a CVT lancer myself. Once it's between 40-60 km/h then it comes into it's own.

@@aayanzaidi23 it happens when you put it in idle and hit the rev limiter. This is the first time I have seen a modern car in the last 22 years that does this, tried this on my own yaris. Even a cultus on the rev limiter (efi variant) didn't do this, leave alone civics and corollas. I think the mounts that they have used on the engine are very soft to aid some sort of comfort. Also I can tell you aap kitna bhi cvt wali 1.3 yaan 1.5 yaris ko bhagalo the cvt will never hit the rev limiter both in manual and D mode so during driving no one will ever know this unless they hit the rev limiter in idle mode.

Awesome content straight racing and comparison of both vehicles in different auto and manual mode no bullshit and like i already said that the transmission is going to give the Yaris an advantage in acceleration especially from a roll where the lag of cvt is out of the equation still city with it's old technology torque converter transmission performed very good against the Cvt yaris.the 6th gen City 1.5 Cvt vs Yaris 1.5 Cvt will be really interesting to watch
Your support means a lott bro! And yes very well said! As we mentioned in our description as well it was impressive that the prosmatec was able to give a good competition against CVT. I think a similar outcome will be seen in the 1.5 variants of both as well. Until City is back in its 6th Gen CVT form.
