Some information on Youth With You Season 3 (Boy's season): This installment of the show was never finished and no boy group came out of it. The production was stopped by the Beijing Municipal Radio and TV Bureau before filming of the season 3 finale where the members of the group should have been chosen. All other episodes except the finale had been aired on iQIYI to this point. The reasons are several controversies: First reson: Particpant Tony Yu dropped out despite a high ranking, because there were Internet rumours that connected his parents with alleged prostitution and drug distribution. Second reason: Tony Yu had aleady been a participant in the Korean casting show "Produce X 101" (4th season of "Produce 101") in 2019. After the controversy about his parents, his profile from the 2019 show resurfaced, where he had listed his nationality as "Canadian". This was seen as affront to Chinese heritage. Also: Double citizenship as of now is illegal there. Third reason: The show had a sponsorship with a flavoured milk and yogurt brand (the pinkish and light blue bottles you see in the videos). The bottles contained QR codes printed on the bottle cap. The codes meant free votes which could be used for favorite participants. After a viral video showed how "Youth With You" fans collected only the caps and discarded loads of milk into sewers, all the incidents above meant as a consequence that the whole show was shut down.
