Great rundown and very interesting. My experience (so far) with Calumet 16 is it needs time in the glass. My bottle has been open for almost 2 months and it still feels tight. Ultimately I don't think I'd pay $140 again, but that just me. It's better than the 15 for sure though.
I’ve been waiting for you to get your hands on that calumet 16, really want to see it again after a few weeks of being opened! I have one on my shelf but waiting for a good reason to pop the cork as it’s the only bottle I’ve ever spent than $100 on😬
I haven't compared the Calumet 16 to any of the SH15's or the Blue Note 17yr that I have, but it is definitely one of the best bourbons I have had since I finished my Russel's Reserve 13yr earlier this year. I truly love the aged oak and cherry pie that it punches you with. Makes me want to do a blind seeing your results. I will say that it really starts to shine after a month of air time. Cheers everyone!
I have to say, I think the nose on the Calumet 16 is maybe the best I've ever experienced on a bourbon. The taste is also good... bit of grass in there which I have only ever got on rye before, which is interesting. But it is a bit thin. The nose, finish, taste is all really great, but it isn't oily. It is an outstanding bourbon, and I mean that, genuinely outstanding, but not at the top level of bourbons I've had. It is 1 step down. Still worth the price considering the shit whiskies I've spend a similar amount of money on.
This show's title should have been-- THE CLASH OF TITANS. Heavy hitters only. According to Eddie Russell jr. the Wild Turkey BIB was his favorite Master's keep thus far.
I prefer Whiskey Row because I like the straightforward content that has an authentic feel. Just don't like being told to sub and like at the beginning of the video before my subscription and like has been earned. Keep up the good work
Interesting ranking. What is the rack number on your Calumet 16? I’m going to guess the flavor profile is not very consistent between bottles. Reviews have bounced around too much on these.
Going with a single barrel pick over something off the shelf was a bad move. The excuse "because it was better" is a very poor one when balancing out the availability of the others.
Good video! I don’t have all of these but calumet 16 beat Sam Houston 15 and Calumet 15 for me when I did my video

I bought the 16 a couple weeks ago and it is awesome! Worth the $130 I paid for it
I’m excited to see how this bout plays out, Salud David!
Hi David! Great stuff as always. Sorry I've been away but it's always good to see your videos. Thank you!
I finally got a bottle of Calumet 16. super excited to try. thanks for the review and blind comparison. cheers
Great video. Never tried any of them but I trust you. Cheers.
Picked up a Calumet 16 for $115 today. Can’t wait to open it up.
Another definition of the good old days.....
When you could get Knob Creek Store pics Nearly 15 years old for 60 to $70.
I just popped 16 this week. Needs to air out. Lots of Caramel flavor

I like Calumet 16 so much I had to find a back up.

I have a bottle on my shelf. Looking forward to see what you think!
Nice. Wonder where that 16yo CF will sit after opening up. I'll have to tune back in :) Nice review though.
Wow 160?! I got mine in NY for 140 including tax. Haven't opened it yet, looking forward to it
Now that you have opened the bottle of Calumet 16 I would like to see what you think in a few months after it opens up.
Agreed. It really benefits from air.
Which store did the 14 year Knob Creek come from?
only problem is those 14/15 year KC picks are no longer available, all that stock is long gone. KC picks are now 9-10 years at best.

I did a blind with my EC18 in it. My EC was so floral i thought it was a really good rye
Calumet 16 best of that bunch
Interesting ranking.

The bottle says 4006.9 in case you were still wondering. The reviews I've watched either had 4005.9 or 4006.9.

Can I ask, what camera and recording software are you using?
This video did not help me not want the MK bottles! 😂
Lol. You sound like you've been at it all day
Thanks, interesting opinion. Also, it's pronounced, Cal-yu-mey.
