I also shouldve used the handbrake too drag across that wall, but i like to completly not use my handbrake. technically i dont even have handbrake, i just have a button set to handbrake.
The clip at 9:40 is a turbo volvo 740 wagon and all I could think of was DriftsNLifts. If you liked this check him out, he just got himself a 400 wheel horsepower volvo wagon that hes going to start entering into comps here in canada!

Side note yall should def plan a trip to Sweden or Poland or wherever the ice drifting is good once FDJ is finished if you can. Watch Juiceboxforyou's ice drifting edit thatll get you hyped haha. Keep up the good work yall!
This was your best video in the series by far. I feel like you took some of our constructive criticisms and really cleaned things up. Aaron kicked ass with the edits too. Now this video actually does compete with Goosiest videos. This is good shit. Im sure it prolly took a little more effort but it was worth it.
What about another editor? Twice as many editors, twice as much video time? 😂 On a serious note, you guys are killing it and keep up the good work. You will destroy Goosiest! 😂
8:35 you just showed the part coming up to the start lmao, not the actual track, I was warming up the tires. if you want to do a video with that car, just react to this comment, I could send it to you, it's a Saab 99 BTW
Ice drifting/racing is very popular here in norway (and the rest of scaninavia) as practice, using rally tires with icestuds, its acually quite decent grip✌🏼 You should try it some time😁
Glad to hear I'm not the only one that wants to compete and not use roof cam. Competitors will literally run roof cam and no smoke in competitions for VDC, DMVC, ESDA, and the like. Like you said it's an actual competitive advantage, so it always perplexed me that they don't make it against the rules. From what I understand, the events are ran to be as close to real life as possible. Idk about you guys, but I don't remember seeing anyone drive the car from the roof in Formula D, or D1GP. Just my 2 cents.
Agreed. I would definitely run maximum smoke settings if my poor 3060 could handle it in VR. Lol. Still got it on though, just can't go all out with it.
@@itranscendencei7964 this is why no one would run with smoke, barely anyone has the power to handle a track with 20 cars, and smoke on max, it was always a struggle to run competition with 16 drivers and judges even without smoke, on a GTX1080ti (back when the 20 series just released) some people were just glad to compete with 40FPS on the lowest settings. (I did try to run a comp with smoke once, I uhhhh, only had 30FPS on medium settings...) cam wise, they just said personal preference, but recommended interior, I think Alan Hynesz and Thikon Polesky were the first to adopt roofcam, and soon others followed with great succes. personally I stayed with interior cuz I share your opinion, but I'm thinking about switching to get more consistent.
@@kyroberkers4080 Yeah, I totally understand not wanting to run smoke with a crowded server if the user doesn't have a good enough GPU. Although, running smoke on minimum at 1080p on a single screen monitor really shouldn't be all that difficult, tbh. That's what my roommate runs his game at with a 2070, and he gets over 100 FPS even on big tracks that have lots of props like the newish Asherville track from 3NOON. I would imagine that a Pascal card would be able to handle it at 60 FPS. I can't say that from experience though. Again, this is all in an attempt to be as close to reality as possible. Not everyone has hundreds of thousands of dollars to build a car and compete in championships IRL, and no one complains about that. I don't think it's too much to ask that the person have a good enough GPU to handle smoke at the minimum setting at their choice of resolution. You could even go down to 900p or 720p if you really just want more fluidity. This is probably a bit of a hot take though, especially with the current situation with semi conductor supply and logistics pricing, but that's just my opinion. Just like we agree that roof cam shouldn't be a thing. Idk. It all just seems weird to me to go through all of the trouble to put on these big live stream events, and have people driving around on the roofs of their cars with no smoke at all. I see where you're coming from though, and I wouldn't blame you for going to roof cam. It's a clear competitive advantage that other people have and you don't. That puts you at an objective disadvantge just because of an opinion. So you have to ask yourself what you care more about: Winning or an opinion? That's my issue though. We shouldn't have to choose.
@@itranscendencei7964 well, I totally get what you're saying, with the smoke, but I've seen guys with a 2080 struggle in VR or triple monitor with minimum smoke and with 20 cars in the pits, that was the biggest issue back then (2020 season of VDC). I don't really care about winning, I want to have fun, the closer the battle, the more fun imo, and if I can close that gap by using a different cam like everyone else, then yea I'll do it, even if I disagree with it. Though it's been a while since I've been on the sim, my clip (8:35) is now 2 years old. Since then I lost my pro license and I've had other priorities. Now I'm rebuilding my rig and going to take a look at a real life drift car this weekend, a lot has changed, but is still the same. Still want that license back, and want to compete in a local drift league. At the end of the day, no matter what cam you use, no matter where the smoke is or isn't. It's still drifting, and that's what we all love, real life or sim, it takes skill and practice.

@8:05 Interesting take on ‘hood cams’. I agree that it gives a huge advantage, but I think hood cams are completely justifiable in the world of Sim drifting. Sim drifting/racing will always have an advantage compared to real life, due to the lack of risk. So why not take advantage of it and see how professional VDC drivers are able to push their limits with these tools available. It would be a waste to not use them for the sake of ‘simulating real life’. It’s the same case for iRacing. iRacing lap records obliterates IRL records because of the advantages it offers (cam, replay system, weather, wind, not worrying about dying etc). What’s important about sim racing/drifting is pushing the vehicles to its limit and see what’s possible if the conditions are perfect. I hope this changes your mind on calling them ‘cheating’.
