70s Fords were beautiful. But even by '79 I don't recall seeing a Mk 1 Escort that wasn't already rusting. So what a great find. Always amazed how some of these are still around. Cheers 😊
I had a 1971 Ford Escort GT in the mid --1980s. Unfortunately, when I bought it the flared front wings had been replaced with standard escort wings so the larger Rostyle wheels always rubbed when turned. Also, like the lady's Escort, one of the rear wheel studs had sheared so I couldn't remove the off-side rear wheel. I pointed this out when I sold it and assume it could be fixed by drilling the stud out although this would be a difficult job without the necessary tools and skill. My Dad also bought a brand new Escort XL in 1971. We had the car for many years and rebuilt it twice only to sell it for £25 around 1991.
what a bostin find that escort lets hope its back on the road very soon the last car looks like hit a very big pot hole lol keep up the good work imstokze 🚓🚓🚓
Morning stokze brother hope your well mate and happy new year bro 👊. And it’s bit late lol but merry Christmas brother. Awesome video as always mate and I can’t believe you found that beautiful escort mate. Love the Old Ford’s just like you mate. Big respect mate
Happy new year stu I'd love to believe the mk1 will be restored but I think we all know that car will still be sitting there in 10 years time p.s a tip for stopping moisture in any vehicle caravan is get a big sandwich box and fill it with salt the salt absorbs moisture I used to do it with my old mini works extremely well
Thanks even me called bullet mirrors and is very nice in good condition as well. I like the old classic escorts be restored soon full restoration on it as well starting to blister the paint.😅😅😅😅😅😅😮
@@RW-bi2rp She will look back at this day in a year or two and wish she’d convinced her family ( probably a son or nephew) to let it go immediately to a restorer. My experience is that as it has sat with grass growing up through it spoiling the look of the neighbourhood for the last ten years, and it will still be sitting there in another ten or gone to a scrap yard for £75.
What a lovely lady with the Mk 1 . Makes a nice change from basically being told to F Off , still some nice people left out there ❤ Hope there will be a follow-up video for that one. Cheers Stu , excellent content as usual 👊
Happy New Year bud. I know that mk1 Escort. I used to see it driving round my area years ago. Always look ruff when it was driving around. That weill never be restored.
Looks like it been neglected before it was taken off the road for ten years and when and if it gets restored it's going to be more work then Julie will be thinking as I will need alot of welding but wat a car to pass your test in a keep but shame it's a 4 door but 2 owner but it still sell for silly money she should of left a window open a little as it's really damp inside and rust more
Happy New Year Stu what a beautiful classic I do hope the Escort will be restored. The first couple of cars look like new can’t understand why they are just sitting there. Great video Stu
Happy new year Stu, looking forward to seeing more car hunting. Should come over to my neck of the woods in the Midlands, there's a few interesting motors that I've seen that I could point you in the direction of, let me know...

I had 2 mk1 escorts green one and white 2 door and 4 door when I was 15 years old 35 years ago and what was that silver sexy car under the cover just before u got to the escort
The quantum kit cars are really ford fiesta cars mk1 and mrk2. And are fully equipped ford cars and they were built in dudley I think. And have a big kit car following. The roof comes off like the rover tomcat. Really nice ford kit cars. And ironically you love ford cars. Please take a look at them again 😊
My grandad has one of those exact same colour a N reg MK 1 in immaculate condition sat in his wooden garage with 31,886 on the clock only used for yearly holiday excursions.
Great channel, especially the escortaz!just a question as you know your business, when you mentioned about micro blisters, can this happen if you keep a cover on a car for long periods of time, even if in humid hot countries,as have some on side of my crv🙏🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Usually micro blisters are sign of corrosion underneath the paint that can be caused by damp or humidity in which the UK is all year round. Being under a car cover for long periods outside means the damp is trapped. That cover probably never comes off.
Hi im old enough to remember these escorts when new my old neighbour jonny had a yellow mk1 1100 when he died it sat in his barn for a good few years it was an l reg 1972/3 dont know who got it but i think edie his sister sold it it was in as new condition. 😊

What a pleasant change, someone willing to discuss their car/project, look forward to a more detailed vid
Julie wins the award for coolest car to own and learn to drive in.
My first car was a Mk1 Escort, just a bog standard 1100cc 1968 model in blue, loved that car!

Good to see a 4 door escort, rather than the usual 2 doors. Lets hope she can resore it before it disolves.

New years resolution is to get my old mercedes finished! Great content as usual Stu ❤
I think the kit cars towards the end were quantums based on a mk2 fiesta

Great video, I’ve got a Metro Vandenplas automatic, 1986 in gold, and brown interior, never been restored, but in amazing condition 🇬🇧
Was excited to see the mk1, then i deflated quicker than a bouncy castle when i saw its a standard 4door 😢

Original 4 spoke rostyle wheels 👍👍
Nice to see cars covered, that mine should have one wtf
My New Year resolution is to get my 1976 Reliant Robin restored

Should put some Dehumidifier crystal pots in car soak up the damp.
Mate what a beauty!
The two kit cars Stu are fiesta mk2 with quantum kits on i think 🤔
In 1987 I brought a mk1 1300 e escort in brownish bronze for £35 lol
That reg is a Brecon wales reg like to know if it was bought from Elstons of Brecon

Funny enough I was in one the other day MK1 escort 4 door it was only 1300 but still had fun
Guarantee that will still be sat there in another 10 years, just by then it'll be to late to save.
👍
The red maestro is taxed till 1st April 2025 and mot till 6th April 2025 with 61.395 miles on the clock at last mot
Its one of them cars fixing holes and other holes appear.
That should've been garaged
Think them 2 cars were quantam kit cars based on mk2 fiesta xr2
When they say its going to be restored its language for this aint never going to be restored..Usually its a hairy old farmer tho.
They're only fooling themselves after all the years of neglect, its almost like a mental illness.
@@Phuc_Yhou the car is fit for scrap, like most of this content.
Let the window open around about 10 mil with the cover on and it will still breathe

You need to seriously invest in a mic
You don't need the preview or the overly long intro, just get stuck in
As nice as that lady is to show you around there's really nothing special about that Escort beyond a K&M filter.
@@russellbird7543 Oh yeah they are as common as a Focus or Astra nowadays aren’t they ?

@danielbridson8534 no, but in MK1 escort terms this is a base model.
