Why didn't the sister tell Andy just about her mom and not about her brother? Could it be she didn't want to use her brother's position to stay with Andy? Maybe she didn't say anything because she wanted to be accepted for who she is and not what her brother had done in his life? Andy's mom got divorced for another reason beside the ones given. She was no longer rich. She no longer could flaunt her wealth in public. A job is a job. Low paying, high paying, they both provide an income that allows a person to support themselves or as in this story, a family. And anyone who stays at a job as long as the mother in this story, enjoys the work they are doing. Franklin was wrong and was punished, as it should be. The lesson he thought he was teaching was the exact lesson that brought him down. Thereby being the wrong lesson to be teaching.
