1:17 45 I wish someone pushed back on the African educator compulsive need to center herself in response to the A.D.O.S woman speaking her truth and pouring out her soul for the world to see. The sad truth is Africans far too often lack a black consciousness and instead bring their tribalism with them.
I hear you. But the USA made progress on race relations. It 2023. You can pursue your dreams free from legal discrimination. The new groups who are born after 1965, and come to the USA after 1965 , have more positive view of USA. What you can tribalism, is really, a network system, for jobs and communication for survival of their group.

This is great a book 📕. I wished all Americans 🇺🇸 to read before graduating high school. As caucasian female myself who is from here but lived and worked in Africa, Europe, Latin America and Asia, I agree with the author 100%. Who is black or who isn’t has different meanings in different societies around the world, and when those get in to America 🇺🇸 they bring their preconceived definitions of what blackness means or not. Often their views about blackness is 180 degrees to Americans. For example; a person can have blue and blonde hair and still be identified as black or Native American when that’s not true in the societies and cultures around the world. I also believe the Hollywood movies perpetuated anti Black and Native Americans stereotypes for decades around the world while only glorifying the Whiteness, the White male in America, without spelling it out. Mostly we can attribute it partially cultural differences and ignorance, and partially indoctrination by media and film industries. What we watch, and let our children watch will have an impact on our believes and worldly views moving forward.
Her views don't represent the whole Hispanic/ Latino community. I as American of cuban and Puerto Rican descent, say most of us are not racist and we don't have a problem with either Black Americans or white Americans.
A very important discussion!
Enjoyed the discoveries in this book.

Correction: Hollywood and American media also glorifies White women and White children.

That’s your personal experience you don’t represent all Latinos
