  • In this video I install a Gotek Floppy Drive Emulator into a 1991 Kurzweil K2000. It includes the actual hardware installation and also the configuration of the USB Stick. Includes many hard-learned lessons and tips:
    Lessons:
    1. Connect the ribbon cable to the Gotek Drive with the red edge away from the little connector (power cable) and with the tab NOT matching the Gotek housing notch.
    2. Only install one (1) jumper at the S0 location.
    3. Pre-thread the Gotek housing screw holes.
    4. Do not use the Gotek built-in format utility to format your USB stick into floppy emulations; use software on the computer instead. If the Gotek tool is used then only one floppy emulation (1.44Mb, drive 000) will be accessible.
    5. When building disk images with MagicISO, create first the new file, and then drag *.KRZ files into the window.
    6. When naming the disk image file, write the extension .img in the name field, if you only write the name, MagicISO will assign the extension .ima and that will not work with Floppy Emulator.

I have 2 k2500x and triton pro. I want to use a gotek drive that supports 1,000 floppy diskettes. Your video helped me a lot. thanks.
