Joseph, you are the best Buddhist teacher I've ever had. There are no words to thank you for giving so much. Deep gratitude! May you be well and happy!

So intensely (for me) relatable this topic at the moment and yet Professor Joseph Goldstein deftly and wisely discusses and unveils and demystifies and parses!

Genghis: Why you say Professor? What does Professor have to do with this? 🙄

@@terefefeyssa877 uh, because he's teaching? Is that wrong to say?

I think 'Self Loss' is an inaccurate naming.
It is realised there never was an inherent self.
Nothing is lost in that realisation.

Yes. Once the construction is realised, the attachment can be considered but no attempt to modify or annul. The work is already done (but it’s a pity to say it 💕)

It depends on the prior realization of true self. I saw a young girl crying and and a little destabilized by the concept. She said, "I don't exist?" as she cried. For me it was shocking and joyful upon realization.

BOILED down ALL all words are concepts one or more levels removed from TAO

Of course words are concepts, as yours are, repeated. Except Joseph speaks from experience...

I feel so stupid. All I ever get out of these talks on Anatta is that the highest form of consciousness is a dead body. 😹 Kinda makes me just want to cut to the chase, you know?
