1. How quiet? maybe a couple dB. Depends how good your hearing aid is.
2. I don't think a burn can be blatant, if devoid of context it sounds more like a compliment. But I guess it comes to individual use of words, I for instance wouldn't use quiet and subtle as synonyms (though I do believe both apply here).
3. If "m" is meant to point out the spelling mistake, thank you. But it's maybe more effective to write out the whole word, maybe star it to show it's a correction. For a second I thought it's maybe an insult I'm too old to understand.

I love the way this show is a vehicle for bringing on all these talented comedians, giving them exposure and getting them paid. The pandemic really sucked. Props to everyone involved.

The first few episodes of Taskmaster are awkward as hell, and look where they ended up. I'm confident After Midnight will just get funnier and funnier! Keep trucking!

I think this show is a little too awkward, but Tomlinson is proving herself and she’s gonna go far no matter what.
I had exactly the same thought about comparing it to Taskmaster. I do think that Taylor is doing a good job powering through the growing pains of a new format.

Kelly from USA Today might have done just a bit of homework and found out that "After Midnight" is not "something new" it is an update of a Comedy Central show of the same name hosted by Chris Hardwick. 😋
It’s very strange to me how no one brings this up. It launched Chris hardwicks hosting career and was so popular it replaced the Colbert report time slot at 11:30 following jon Stewart’s final season as daily show host. Jokingly hardwick started calling it @11:30 even tho it kept its name of ‘at midnight’ which is even weirder bc they changed the name by one word but kept the @m logo but everyone keeps saying it’s new!!
I love this host tho and think she deserves her own fresh’er’ format. I think they would do better with a talk / joke / sketch format hybrid like a Chelsea handler meets corden, and she definitely deserves her own band!!

So great to see PFT again, he was probably my fave on the other show!! The other 2 were great on this, love meeting new comedy providers. I thought the panel was nicely balanced and supportive of each other, using synergy instead of competition to raise the creative level. You can tell a lot about the comedy quality of the one that gets eliminated by how they use their time in that elimination, Carl Tart was top notch. THANK YOU!!!

Agreed. Posting entire episode was better. Otherwise the channel is going to be a mess In a few weeks. Also I think I like it less now that they cut out the dud answers. Feels more interesting to hear the comedians not always have a great joke. Might be in the minority here

It's TH-cam. The Daily Show (none of the shows actually) put out the entire episode on their official TH-cam channels for reasons. Have you watched the Daily Shows TH-cam? It's the same. I'm sure there are reasons regarding the YT algorithm. Google it.
@@justlou717I think answers may be cut for time. Strange as it is, this is a network show so it actually has to fit a TV time slot.
I love the show how it is and I expect it will still get better. If I were to make a suggestion, I'd love to see a round where Taylor is forced to be a panelist in a sort of "Beat the host" round. I'm thinking once the 3rd contestant is eliminated, they get to be temporary host while Taylor takes their place during a final points round before the final clash.
This is super fun. Improvisational comedy is my favorite! Keep it coming!

I'm enjoying the show so far, my only real comment is I'd like to see more banter with the guests. Something akin to Britain's Mock the Week or 8 Out of 10 Cats. Turn it into an American Panel Show! Taylor obviously is wonderful at chatting and riffing, it'd be great to see more of that, especially if you're going to mainly have comedians on. Also, would be amazing to get comedians from all over the country to take part (...if that's not already the plan...)!
Love her. And I like the idea of three guests at a time. But, i was looking foward to Taylor as a Craig Ferguson type interviewer. But I'm watching.

I like this format where guest comedians just makes jokes throughout the program. There are a lot of these programs in UK, and there were some of these shows here in the US too in the past, like Chelsea Handler show. It will take a while for this show to find a couple of anchor guests who can help carry the show and draw regular audience, but I'm sure this show can get there. All the best to Taylor.
Whitney Cummings was great on the first ep - had great chemistry with Taylor and the other panelists. I can see them booking her more regularly. It would be great.

Taylor, you rock! I would like to see 21 minutes of normal couch talk show to intro your guests and then 9 min of the game show where they get the questions in advance so their answers are top-notch and so you can rocket through the speed round to cover more ground.

I used to love this show in spite of Chris Hardwick, so I’m glad it’s back with a better host. I just wish they’d bring back the old intro, where each guest answered an introductory question instead of just baldly introducing themselves in a funny way. It was more clever and seemed somehow like less pressure.

@@yurmomsaccount Yeah it was the height of the MeToo movement, which I support, but some serious damage was done to innocent people, which I do not support. Meanwhile I've missed this show format, mostly because of the long-term community it produced, meeting new comedy providers and enjoying the through-lines that developed. So I'm glad it's back.
I thought the show was more than ok it’s refreshing and filled with laughter unlike the regular agenda filled programming and with a gorgeous funny host!

@@margolious @midnight had an ongoing thing where comedians would regularly rip on Cheesecake Factory. After some exchanges on social medial, a deal was worked out where CF would cater a filming session and feed the cast, crew and crowd. After they came through on their end, jokes about CF were no longer allowed.
There's more to it than my brief and probably mostly inaccurate retelling, but I think that get's the point across.

I really like this format it reminds me of an English game show I like .. and Taylor is a great host for the format , just wish it was easier to watch the entire show so you could get a better feel from start to finish .
