    This was so helpful, thank you. I kept getting the big grid gaps and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong.

    EXCELLENT Video... short and to the point and very clear explanation, thanks so much. Can I export the artwork in the way you did it but instead of JPEG, on SVG or EPS? I need that pattern in vectors but I don't want to deliver the image to my client in vectors if the overboard objects will be seen by my client.

    • @kelseycasteel
      @kelseycasteel  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@claudio_sergiacomo yeah if you click save for web in the export you can choose jpg or click save as and choose SVG or png

      @@kelseycasteel Thanks Kelsey, although I just tried and didn't work. In the Save for the Web (Legacy) there is no SVG option, just GIF, JPEG and PNG and if I do Save As and select SVG I dont't see an option to say to export just the artboard area so in teh resulting SVG I still see all the overboard objects coming out of the artboard

    Thank you very much for the tutorial! This is one of the most useful on videos about patterns in Ai on TH-cam. However I still have a question - is it possible to make it so that objects in a ready-made pattern can be grouped by color or moved? I'll be very grateful for your answer

      You can ‘save for web’ and it will save the art board with the pattern so you can make the repeat over and over

    I have been following your tutorial but somehow the thin white line between squares still shows up and no matter how i tweak the background square, it wont disappear. Do you have any tips for this?

    • @kelseycasteel
      @kelseycasteel  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It could be a few things. First thing I do is delete the background box that has no full or stroke. Then I make sure my background is over my art board on all sides. I’ll then copy and paste the background again making sure it’s behind the background and get rid of the fill and stroke. After trying that if it doesn’t work delete your elements that are overhang on one side and make them repeat again. Sometimes an element can get moved slightly without us noticing. Sorry this is long but hopefully it helps

    Hello Kelsey! Thanks for the tutorial it is really helpful and has helped me making lot of patterns this way. However, I'm coming back here because for some reason i followed every steps but my pattern still left with gap around it. It seems the second rectangle won't crop my design. Do you think you can see where i might get it wrong?

    • @kelseycasteel
      @kelseycasteel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you copying the background shape and sending it back with no fill or stroke?

    So you save this as RGB even though it will be printed?

    • @kelseycasteel
      @kelseycasteel  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I save it RGB for social media but also save the AI file incase the pattern gets picked up for licensing. That way I can send it to client in the way that they need
