Good God Neil, if you insist on running that plug kit on your frame like that please point the forks downward before you have to plug your leg! Otherwise SWEET BIKE!!
Orange Stage 6 what I've added/changed vittoria air liner on rear, schwalbe tyres Magic Mary up front and rear choice of rocket ron/ Hans dampf/ dirty Dan. Back county research strap with inner tube, CO2, wolf tooth components powerlink pliers loaded with 12 speed and 2x schwalbe tyre leavers just in case I flap removing rear tyre the air liner isn't as bad as cushcore though. Bottom axle samurai s.w.o.r.d. loaded. Steer tube one up components EDC tool with 2nd CO2 and more powerlinks. Water either a back pack or when I face plant I suck the damp through my teeth ... the last bit might not be true.
I recently picked up an almost brand new Ohlins RXF 36 air fork for a massive bargain; the previous owner had cut about 20mm too short on the steerer tube, so it was unusable to him. I machined up an insert from a 7000 series alloy with a 0.4mm interference fit, so that I could fit a stem to it. Saved myself about $1200 AUD for my effort, and managed to save a fork that would have otherwise been unusable.
I have a new Whyte T-130C-RS (for about 4 weeks). All I've really done to it so far is tune the suspension (as best I can), fit a Whyte chain guide and some 'Slime' tubes. It's been 22 years since I last raced any kind of mtb, and so I'm not sure what to change or why. Just abusing the hell out of at the moment and if something breaks, I will upgrade it. Apart from a few non-functional addons, it is otherwise stock. Been watching this channel avidly for the past couple of months, and I still don't have a real idea of what is super-important and what is not - performance-wise. In the end, I decided fun was the most important thing, while trying to keep myself unbroken - as far as possible. :D Fantastic channel! I have learnt so much from you guys - I also now realise just how much I need to learn/relearn after 22 years off a bike! ;) Keep up the good work!!
Hey Niel, I’m not sure about this, but I also got the fox 36 factory 180 and as I let out all the air I noticed that the end of the travel is, when the o-ring is just above the cashima label and not all the way to the top. So you used all the travel, I guess.
Oh Yeah, plug that hole. First I've herd of that one 👍 I'm always messing with the height of handle bar's. I can Fakie better all the up. But I like them all the way down
Question; how did you get the Ergon handgrips to pair with the Syncros/Scott integrated dropper-post remote/shock lock system on the left side (not sure my semantics are 100% alright). I don't like the integrated system at all as it prevents me to put on non-syncros handgrips - I also find the shock lock levers positioned quite awkwardly - especially the "mid-lock" positions seem to disagree with my thumb most of the time at bumpy downhills it sometimes hurts quite badly. Thx in advance !
Neil, nice setup, I noticed your flat pedals. Maybe, could you and/or Blake do a vid on flat peddle shoes. I've bit the bullet and moved from cleats to flats (one too many injuries) and there is very little info on what makes a good flat peddle shoe. I've got all my cleat shoes but they are not working and my foot goes all over the place when I wear them. I've often notice yours and Blake's flatties and, ja man, share some info...
very interesting ! does the tire preasure increasement for racing depends of how rough are the stages or you systematically increase your tire preasure for racing
Question about the Camelback 710 you have fitted in that position - Was looking at these online the other day and they look like nozzle/top is going to fill up with all sorts of dirt and muck. Is this the case? Not sure I want to be kicking up water-borne nasties, dog cr@p, or something just as nasty all over the part I am going to put in my mouth...
Cee Dubble yes you can, you’re gonna have the advantage on the climbs however going downhill the bike maybe twitchier and unstable for enduro. I’d recommend running a shorter stem and wider bars and if you can find chunkier tires that can fit your bike (at least 2.35- 2.5) and have decent chain retention either with a chain guide or a narrow wide ring. If you can buy a longer travel fork then 140mm of travel is a decent upgrade to make an xc bike enduro ready
Cee Dubble it will make the bike feel much more responsive when going down which is why you also install wider bars for better feel and leverage. i’d recommend getting 800mm bars and getting the feel for it but if you want it smaller you can just cut them to size.
No issues with assembly for me th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L but I could see where some might benefit from using an experienced bike assembler/mechanic. I'm an older rider starting back after a 10 year break. This bike exceeds my capabilities and has been easy to get comfortable riding. I'm mostly on easy trails with almost no street riding and have not been disappointed with the performance of the bike. My fitness level is far below what I previously rode with and because of that the mileage is going on the bike slowly. While I'm losing weight slowly, the bike seems to tolerate my 220 pounds just fine. The bike has been used by several family members ranging from 5'5" - 5'9".
Why buy these unprectical overpriced MTB shoes`? I don´t get it. Getting nice tracking boots is way better in my opinion. - Good for climbing - Solid stability and support - 100 Waterproof - Better grip due to the profil - Looks good - And perfect for daily use Only downsite is, that it takes a bit longer to put on, which is worth. So for 150€ you get a top product instead of what is basically a sneaker.
How have you modded your bike for riding and racing? Let us know in the comments below 👇

let me know how it was!
Good luck
Thanks guys! I will
cheers
Good luck man, I reckon you'll do fine :) even if you don't come too high up you'll still learn alot.

Just on time.I’m racing enduro tomorrow
The Ransom is such a beast! Impressive tuning.
Love that bike and your videos 👍🏻
Sick video, could you do another cleaning video
Nice trip!
Love the 50fps in the video. Never noticed till now
I agree with Neil, you need a big nob in tough conditions :D
you guys are great.
I run downhill tires + cushcore front and rear
Can you please do a video on how to get to the EWS?
@@anthonymowl5758 thanks!!
Gmbn is the best. 👍
What chain is that?
i wish i had a bike like you guys
Can i set up my 2018 giant trance 27.5 for enduro?
Could you guys do a video of how to ‘refurbish’ your bike after a race
No
@@bigboman9134 2 years on from that comment mate. You have too much time on your hands to be reading comments from that long ago 🙂
@@kieran2452 🤣🤣🤣🤣 hi
Great run through Neil. 👍
My first enduro race is November 17 and 18
was going to ask if the cushcore stops rim damage, lots of dings in my rear hope rims
Love you content !!

Can you do the same for cross county.?🙏🏻
Good vid lads
sick bike
Would that plug actually work after it got all dusty and dirty?
Very nice bike , great setup :)
The only thing I would change is the pedal colour
Love the video. What rear shock is that if I may ask. And do you think it would fit the 2018 scott spark 740?
Where did you get that strap from to secure your plug tool n a Inner tube? Great vid as always neil 😎✌️
Backcountry research Mutherload strap. I just got one from Tredz.
Neil shares how he set up his Scott Gambler mountain bike for enduro racing. - but he talks about scott ransom in the video
You mentioned locking out to save your BB, but do many EWS riders use bash guards?
Nice video wat if you guys do a morning routine as mountain bikers it will be awsome 👍👍😇
the bike still looks incredible
my mountain biker idol🤟🏻🤟🏻
Oh Yeah, plug that hole.
First I've herd of that one 👍 I'm always messing with the height of handle bar's. I can Fakie better all the up. But I like them all the way down
Which tyre is suitable to use, either tubeless or with tubes sir??
So, what is considered 'hard' for PSI in the tire? 30? 40?
I'd say even 30 is on the 'hard' side - anything above 27 imo

I would choose the FiveTen Freerider, you can find them on the adidas online store
Doesn't that inline shock overheat?
First I need a true mountain bike lol
Same here m8
I also
Same my bike now is absolutely cooked
How much would it cost for a new set up like that? What would something like that sell for used?
How do you pull then dent out of the rim ? Any good tips as I have just dented my brand new hope tech dh rim 😕
getting a used giant faith this week, any tips for set up?
very interesting ! does the tire preasure increasement for racing depends of how rough are the stages or you systematically increase your tire preasure for racing
Depends, it can increase or decrease, try experimenting!
#askgmbn waht do you think of the new muc off disk brake covers
Can you link where to get those DH 22 tires for Sam's Pro Bike? I have been looking for a while and cant find them for purchase.
They are prototypes
ExceLLenT 🇺🇸🌵Vid⭐thanks coz I'm learning but i ride crazily . . ...lol😎🌵
I've got a santa cruz 5010. What do you think about racing enduro on one, would it be too small/trail-y?
mmm good dirt depends on the trails unless your in the ews you should be fine with atleast 140

No io la bici la uso solo sulle strade normali e ho un orbea rallon del 2015.
Is that a DPX2 or a X2 on your bike?
Its a fox nude
how about the sealant if you put cushcore @ the rear tire? it will absorb by the foam
what is enduro racing?
Solo vine a ver la hermosa bici
Surprised you don't have crank boots on those carbon cranks.
