I disagree....I mean, with the game on the line who would you rather have.....the guy with the best win percentage, or the guy who actually sacks the QB and causes fumbles? 🤣🤣🤣

A left tackle pushing their opponent and making them run wide still counts as a "pass rush win" for the defender if he technically gets by them. The craziest part is most of y’all don’t realize that Watt and Garret play different positions. Garret is a DE and Watt is OLB, both “edge rushers” just in 4-3 or 3-4. Double team rate is only counted towards two linemen blocking one defender. DEs routinely get doubled by o line but have a shorter distance to the QB and have 3 other DL rushing usually. Whereas OLBs gets chipped by TEs and RBs and have to drop into coverage (both of which happened to TJ a lot this season). Not saying this makes either a better player, y’all just need to know the facts before you comment about double team rate.

However, having said that as a Steelers fan, I thought Daron Bland's 9 picks and 5 pick-6s was easily the best defensive performance of the 2023 NFL season. But there's no way TJ should've lost to Garrett. What a joke! The whole NFL is becoming a joke.
You can look at the stats, but look at the GAMES. You can give at least 3 games balls directly to TJ Watt for the Steelers win. When TJ is out the Steelers lose. He's that important to this team
And TJ Watt was injured and didn’t play in the playoff game and the Steelers lost. Adding to your point on Garret playing and they still lose badly. It’s no wonder we don’t know most of these voters bc they know they snubbed so many awards in the past and they can’t shake the embarrassment

I honestly think they only gave Myles the DPOY because he probably will never get another chance at one. His body is declining and he’s due one. But for them to give it to him this year was a slap in TJ’s face.
Myles was getting that award from the start of the season no matter what he did, he has made up stats like Pass Rush Win Rate and Double Team Rate, we dont care about production, we care about almost production.
I don't understand how people can sit there and say "TJ Watt got screwed" and at the same time say "Lamar deserved MVP". Fact is neither of them should have won (Myles), and neither of them should have even been top 5. MVP should have gone to Dak/Josh/Purdy/McCaffrey and DPOY should have gone to TJ.
Here are the facts, every browns fan/steelers hater is going to say Myles deserved it, every steelers fan/browns hater is going to say Watt deserved it because they are each rightfully bias. Now if you look at people that are not attached to either fan base, the overwhelming majority say Watt deserved it. The things that people say about Garrett and why he deserves it are all subjective and can be applied to Watt as well, “he’s a game wrecker” “he takes over games” “they game plan against him”, all can be said for Watt. The only statistical difference that Garrett has over watt is double team percentage, the kicker is that PFF doesn’t classify what they count as a double team. Garrett lines up more on the interior than watt because they play different positions so Garrett faces more of the traditional guard/tackle double teams. Watt always lines up way on the outside so he typically faces chip blocks and running back help, we don’t know if those get counted as a double team even though watt still has to beat 2 players. Furthermore, watt has been way more impactful in the pass game, people say Garrett gets double teamed and still gets sacks, that’s cool but is it as impactful as an interception, fumbles, and TD’s? All of which Watt had more of. Finally, Garrett got 1 sack in the last stretch of games, if a player is getting double teamed and game planned against and it totally removes them from the game than they shouldn’t win an award for it, that’s like having a WR that gets double coverage a majority of plays and puts up above average numbers, doesn’t lead in any category, and only scores 1 TD in the last 6 weeks and they get OPOY. As for Parsons brain dead take, who cares if you have the best pass rush win rate if you are not finishing the play? Cool, you beat the offensive lineman across from you but the QB still made a 15 yard completion, congratulations I guess? Again, that’s like having a WR running a nasty route, putting the CB on the ground with broken ankles, getting 10 yards open but dropping the pass. What good is winning a pass rush if you can’t get a sack or TFL.

@@jaylasky4313But if there is an award for being top five in every category that the NFL is based on, TJ was in all of them and Myles was in non of them! So if you were held and even slung to the ground multiple times during every game, where PFF's stats for that!????? Complete bias crap is what they are! But unless you actually watch both players, you would be that naive.
The pass rush win rate is a totally made up stat. It's the percentage of times a pass rusher wins a matchup in 2.5 seconds or less. So if the pass rusher beats a blocker in 2.6 seconds and gets a sack it would be considered a win for the blocker in that situation. Need I say more ???

As a50 year Steelers fan only one trophy matters. This is not the standard but even rebuilding we are still a team to worry about. Without TJ it gets a lot easier to beat. That has to change but he is out QB on the D and a game changer. Not many D players can say that.

Fun fact the dpoy is not a pass rusher trophy. It's who made the most impact as There have been exactly 6 DT's that won DPOY 5 safety's that have won DPOY 6 corner backs that have won DPOY 13 linebackers that won DPOY and 10 DE's that have won DPOY I didn't count multiple wins as it was the same player still the DPOY isn't determined by the how many times a player can get to the QB as it's rare for a corner or safety to get to the QB. People forget that greats like Troy polamalu was a Safety and deon sanders was a corner back who I don't remember seeing deon getting sacks but he still won DPOY

The guy was absent the last 7 weeks of the season. TJ Watts back up had more sacks than Garrett over that time. His B-A-C-K-U-P lololol
There's no question that TJ should've won the award over Garrett. Just look at the stats across the board. However, having said that as a Steelers fan, I thought Daron Bland's 9 picks and 5 pick-6s was easily the best defensive performance of the 2023 NFL season. But there's no way TJ should've lost to Garrett. What a joke! The whole NFL is becoming a joke.
He kinda looks like that guy who played for the Texans
Idk dude, looks more like this guy who played for the cardinals
You can look at the stats, but look at the GAMES. You can give at least 3 games balls directly to TJ Watt for the Steelers win. When TJ is out the Steelers lose. He's that important to this team
TJ is a beast, let him play next season with that chip on his shoulder.
Jj watt vs john cena ego match only = entertainment gold
I nearly snapped my thumbs in half trying to click on this. I BEEN WAITIN ON THIS!!! 👏👏👏. SSSSNNNNUUUUUUUBBBBBBEEEEDDDD!!!!!!
The NFL cut JJ from exposing the award ceremony 😅
See Micah, that's how you handle that's ish!! No mud slinging like a damn politician
TJ was def the DPOY,, Garrett plays when he wants to play and DISAPPEARS when he's most needed,, ( playoff game ) TJ comes to play EVERY down.
And TJ Watt was injured and didn’t play in the playoff game and the Steelers lost. Adding to your point on Garret playing and they still lose badly. It’s no wonder we don’t know most of these voters bc they know they snubbed so many awards in the past and they can’t shake the embarrassment
NFL Honours are as real as that guitar solo during the halftime show
Damnnn so this is what a hater sounds like smh
I don't know, as an actual guitarist myself she looked like she was playing legit. I was impressed, though I would have to go back and slow mo it to really see what she's playing. However, even if she faked it she is far more convincing than 99.9% of people who fake playing guitar.
@@lastreal4111 It’s not hate when it’s a fact
@@deaj8450I think she recorded it and basically lip synced the solo, because she definitely played it, the notes looked like they matched the finger placement
@@willt3608 That's possible, she definitely knows how to play though. No fake guitarist is moving their fingers that accurately, and her picking was also convincing. We've seen enough fake guitarists to know when someone is legit.
Love pat prying at jj good entertainment here
They must know ahead of time if they win.
i feel like everyone misinterpreted what jj was saying
I honestly think they only gave Myles the DPOY because he probably will never get another chance at one. His body is declining and he’s due one. But for them to give it to him this year was a slap in TJ’s face.
TJ Watt is a OLB. He drops in coverage. Miles is a DE.
Myles performed better pass rushing and run defense. TJ plays on the run side. Myles plays on the pass side
Myles was getting that award from the start of the season no matter what he did, he has made up stats like Pass Rush Win Rate and Double Team Rate, we dont care about production, we care about almost production.
Someone else said it best, it’s like rewarding the guy who gets out of the blocks first instead of the guy who actually crossed the finish line first.
It’s like of your a Steelers you will always be snubbed as a football player! The steeler hate is too real
Tj been snubbed atleast 3-4 times honestly
Tj watt is an above average edge rusher.
Barely
Who’s telling Myles to his face that he didn’t earn that award? 😂
No one bc he'll hit them with a helmet and then deflect blame like an immature pos
probably the same fan that punched him in the face
If he wanted DPOTY he should have had less qb sacks and more potential sacks.
Tj got snubbed
So you must think Parsons deserved the award because he does all the off-ball stuff Watt does but still faces more double teams.
TJ WAS DPOY, even Miles "the clown" garret knows this.....

Tj dominated the so called Defensive Player of the year
Damn jj go help tj out, you know you want to
Cowboys and steelers play in Pittsburgh next year...hope Dak's body can cash the check that Micah wrote.
If you could add either player to your team, all else being even, I don't think any GM takes Watt over Garrett(outside of PA anyway). That is an opinion and can I have not information to back it up, but I think it's correct.
Furthermore, if this award is based on total sacks, there is a pile of players over decades that have a lot of questions about where their award is.
@@jaylasky4313But if there is an award for being top five in every category that the NFL is based on, TJ was in all of them and Myles was in non of them! There isn't a stat for holding either, which TJ also would have won. He's so good, they don't even call holds even if he is thrown to the turf! Still, every NFL stat, he was the best by far!
Need I say more ???
can we get a JJ watt new hair style tutorial?
Snubbed two years in a row
No last year he was out injured for too long and didn't have the real stats. This year and the 2020 season were true snubs
@@bryanclark5924 Those are the ones I was referring to. Nonetheless subbed.
Look at the stats and you can’t even believe how TJ didn’t easily win …. It’s some BS 🤬🤬🤬
That was 4:30 of feeling super uncomfortable
Tj should legitimately have at least 3 DPOY titles
What’s the point of stats then..? That’s what it should be about, not a popularity contest
GUYS GET OVER IT MYLES DID A COOL CROSSOVER MOVE THINGY HE DESERVED IT
I am happy to know 3 former Players in Panther History are #2,#3,and #4 in NFL Sack history!!! Reggie White and Kevin Green(The Dream Team) late 1990s! Julious Pepper 🌶 Hot and Nasty on the line!!! Keep Pounding!!!!
The real question is TJ Watt pissed behind closed doors. I wouldn't want to be a QB this year if he is.
Miles garrett winning d e I of the year is 😂😂😂😂 Completely ridiculous. Of course he won DEI.
How an award that is chosen by other humans can be bet on is beyond me. Funny how the one guy that had the best stats up and down the page and was most consistent all year, had the worst odds of winning the award, and myles was the odds on favorite and "wins" is a bit telling. How much did vegas stand to lose if TJ won?
ATTA BOY, TJ! I love him being that kinda petty
Let's be real Mad Maxx the only one that should be feeling salty about DPOY.
Parsons and Garrett both disappeared the last 3 games of the season .
There’s the WATT standard, and then the rest. This year, they let the rest shine to make them feel relevant
I’m pretty sure they reveal winners before awards. Don’t think MCDC was there Demeco Ryan might have been. Both more deserving than Stefanski the choker. I’m a die hard Lions fan but Demeco Ryan should have won that award easily.
I respect jj for standing up for the other guys... but like come on... tj was the best. Imo most impact full defensive player
I would've taken TJ, Trey Hendrickson, and PARTICULARLY Maxx Crosby, BEFORE taking myles garrett as the DPOY 🤷♂
It's no surprise TJ Watt was snubbed again this is like the 3rd time he was snubbed he has lead the league 3 or 4 times only player in NFL history to do that the NFL doesn't like the Steelers or TJ Watt they even take sacks away from him they did it a couple of times this year and the year he tied the record and they stoped his record breaking sack it's crazy
Myles was the better player
Miles Garrett got the affirmative action award!
Tj did nothing in run defense 🤡🤡🤡
@@klmn4346 Myles did nothing in coverage🤡🤡🤡

Sign of the times anti white...Like the W and CC!
As a50 year Steelers fan only one trophy matters. This is not the standard but even rebuilding we are still a team to worry about. Without TJ it gets a lot easier to beat. That has to change but he is out QB on the D and a game changer. Not many D players can say that.
T.J. clearly deserved it
They've robbed TJ twice now and it's BS cause it was so obvious he is and has been best defensive player in the world PERIOD. LOOK AT STATS MICAH 😅😂. SMH
Watt is really good.. but my claim is he plays dirty.. I've seen quite of few unnecessary hits from him .... granted.. Myles tried to hit qb with his helmet.. but that was a one off.. IMO YMMV
Real question. Does anyone know AJ Hawk's internet service provider and or booster/router set up?
So TJ is 2nd in class along with being the 2nd best defensive player in the NFL 😅
JJ Watt would make a great politician.
STEELER NATION ❤WE KNOW TJ IS THE BEST Defensive player of the year. Don’t play with us,
jj is one or two all time of his passion
As a Browns fan, I know other Browns fans know Garret didnt deserve DOP this year. Watt was productive all the way til the end.
Fun fact the dpoy is not a pass rusher trophy. It's who made the most impact as
There have been exactly 6 DT's that won DPOY 5 safety's that have won DPOY 6 corner backs that have won DPOY 13 linebackers that won DPOY and 10 DE's that have won DPOY
I didn't count multiple wins as it was the same player still the DPOY isn't determined by the how many times a player can get to the QB as it's rare for a corner or safety to get to the QB.
People forget that greats like Troy polamalu was a Safety and deon sanders was a corner back who I don't remember seeing deon getting sacks but he still won DPOY
JJ a beast 1st ballot HOF but he's not a top 5 all time pass-rusher
I guess by this logic, Baker Mayfield should’ve won MVP. Stats were far better than Lamar’s.
Micah Parsons isn’t Top 5 and I said what I said 🤷🏾♂️
The glazing by opening guy is crazy. JJ is great but he’s not a top 5 rusher of all time. He’s top 15.
he is most definitely top five. he had arguably the greatest stretch of play of any defensive player during his prime
Cam Hayward was announced as Walter Payton man of year award on Steelers website 2 hrs before honors mentioned it
YESSSSSS!!!. TJ hot robbed😮
Well that was a big nuthin mcmuffin
If TJ Watt wasn’t the color he is he would’ve won
Micah needs to step his game up, not on watt or garretts level.
