Every other scene is poking fun of one group or another or referencing major American issues from cynical exploitation of rainbow capitalism, America’s toxic gun culture tothe rise of dangerous rhetoric in social media. With this new season, as it being an election year, it's mostly about "Trumpism" who was on trial too. I'm not American so people from US, feel free to explain better.

I've been waiting for this video! Your reaction to The Boys was how I originally found your channel all the way back in season 1. I enjoy your other reactions of course, but it's always nice to see you return to this gory, chaotic, yet hilarious world.. especially since season 5 will be the last season.
33:39 I suspect that for most people it's not universal. Meaning that they can't separate the art from the artist consistently all the time. I admire the people who are able to. It's always easier to do it when we are already invested in the artist, vs an artist we already dislike or are indifferent about.

I wonder how effectively Homelander can x-ray himself because you would think he would know about his own enlarged prostate. Also, this is the first season of The Boys to be review bombed by butthurt right-wingers because I guess the very obvious political point of the view of the show is finally beginning to hit a little too close to home. What's funny is that most of the dialogue from the insane, conspiracy-loving right-wing characters is taken straight out of the real world. Firecracker and characters like that, this is exactly what their real world counterparts sound like.
This kind of on-the-nose political commentary breaks immersion. It also needlessly equates the entire right to alt-right movements. Someone like Sage should be so far beyond regular humans that she doesn't get hung up on perceived bigotry or misogyny (a mix of Spock and Sheldon Cooper if you will) but rather correctly diagnoses Homelander's narcissism due to the gap in power, as she doesn't seem to be gifted beyond her stellar, one-in-a-billion gray matter, and therefore knows when to challenge him and when to play into his continent-sized ego; then again, maybe she's at least 50 steps ahead but hasn't accounted for his shattered mind, which will be her undoing. Would be a damn shame, though, as she has what it takes to pose an on-going threat even if HL were hypothetically dispatched.

He comments about Stanley Edgar being close to a coronary and that his blood is "like engine oil" and in S1 he detects Hughie's elevated blood pressure with an exact number. And of course he detects Butcher's tumor in this episode and probably accurately diagnoses how long he has to live.

This series has always been on the nose, it has never been subtle, and what people like yourself are whining about now is that the real world actions of the right are basically just giving them more material to exploit. That is literally it. The only thing that has changed is the increasingly extreme actions and rhetoric of the targets of satire that the show has always had in it sights. The show doesn't owe you anything because it never, not once asked for someone who believes the things you believe in to like it.
