Thanks for posting this video!! Growing up our grandpap had a 79 super wagon, 2 tone metallic blue and beige, same exterior trim. It was an absolute staple in our family and all friends and relatives remember it fondly! One distinctive thing with the early super wagons were the rear springs, 4 1/2" full length plies that had the ability to launch all kids in the rear most seat into orbit with the proper bump and right commands given to the captain! (It was the 80s, fun overrode safety!). The later models were built much lighter in my opinion. Don't see many of these anymore, let alone in this immaculate condition!
Great van. 460, C6 with 4.11 gears. Got to be running some pretty high RPM's at highway speeds. I tow a 2019 Airstream Flying cloud 25' trailer with a 2013 Ford E150 XLT Premium van with every factory option offered at the time. 70 MPH (my max towing speed for safety) is 2200 RPM. Driveline is the 5.4, 4 speed od tranny with Dana 60 3.73 LSD. Tows like a champ. Even though it is a E150 it is rated at 8600 GVWR and 2500 LBS cargo rating. A true horse!!!! 12 MPG towing and 17 MPG not towing. 33 gallon tank. Love vans.
I remember these when I was young on the roads. Beautiful van for its time. Just cool all around.

Some people really hate these vans. They are probably some of the best things to come out of the American auto industry, especially the conversions.
SUPER WAGON!!!!!! The SUPERMAN of station wagons!
