This feels pretty sub-par compared to their previous work. Great to see them releasing new music, but I was hoping for something a little more polished and ambitious.
I wasn't a big fan of this song the first time I heard it - I think because I miss hearing the punk influences - but it really grew on me the same way Hot Number did. It's just such a feel-good tune, the way it lifts your spirits and encourages you to, well, carry on!
This whole new EP is really great. Quite a return to form, last couple of releases were a little experimental in sound. Good to see them doing upbeat ska pop!
A little looking about on the internet tells me Carry On (the album) was released independently from their Sony Japan label, so distribution might have been a little weird?
Did they change the vocalist? Cuz she sounds different, not in a bad way!! Her voice more mature and more pleasing to hear. And the songs is just absolutely fabulous too.
