When you think she’s at the right age to be able to comprehend and understand what your telling her then try to not shelter her from how society is. Always gotta be aware. A word of wisdom. Make sure you teach her the letter sound along with the letters. Coming from a teaching background Blakley has a good vocabulary for her age. Homeschool can be so much fun, everything you do with her is a teaching opportunity. Have fun!
My mother homeschools me and started doing so around Blakley's age. She taught me how to read and says it was her greatest accomplishment. I highly recommend it because for me, I learn different things and at my own pace. I deepen my education by digging deeper into my topic. I have many extracurriculars for friends. I have always been very independent, so this schooling is easy for me, but my little brother was the opposite. It was hard at first, but he has his routine in place and he's very self-sufficient. I started reading at three so when I tried kindergarten, I was already at a first-grade level. I used to live in California, there you can't really skip grades. I am in 8th, I want to go to high school, I do a lot of soccer and piano. I used to do dance and danced during the halftime of Pheonix suns. Now I am a soccer player, I have played in Greece and all over the US. I play with GA ODP.

The only thing I hated about online was that I started because of the pandemic, just as I was entering high school, lost contact with all my friends, and left band. But I knew doing online would get me more help with my IEP and life after school than any public school could give me! ❤
The good thing about homeschooling too is there is a lot of programs now where kids can be part time homeschooled as well. I have been teaching preschool for 10+ years and it’s sad to see how the socialization aspect is just taken away and it’s all about worksheets 😢

Also, for anyone worried that being home-schooled makes one more anti-social or awkward, there are plenty of home-school co-ops that and other resources out there. Additionally, I graduated with a Master of Divinity a couple of years ago, so I never felt hindered in my ability to learn as a result of not having "professional" teachers while growing up. I think your upgrade might be larger computer with upgraded cameras 😂 My great grandson was born June 6th, Noah and Bryer are at the same stage...I love babies when they start babbling and cooing! Noah let's out a little giggle now and then, and he just stares at me like "who did that" lol then smiles big...so much joy watching them grow and learn!

This resulted in me not only being able to read on my own by the time I was 3, but turned me into a bookworm who can't even put a book down while I eat. 😂 A terrible habit, but the trade off being that I'm a voracious reader and will read absolutely anything that strikes my interest.

I am 15 and home schooled, for me home schooling is amazing but it can take a big toll on my mental health, but if I had the choice to go to normal school it would make me feel a lot better I think. But the problem is I don't have a say, I physically can't go to school. But I think that as a primary and intermediate, homeschool is great but I think if you give your kids a choice to go to home school or normal school they will rlly appreciate that and be a lot closer to you guys. You guys are already such amazing parents. That's just my little piece of advice 😊

Homeschooling is something I also plan to do with my children. I currently have a toddler the same age as Blakely. I also agree that the public school system is not the same as when I attended school. It is better to monitor what she is being taught. Homeschooling is the safe option. :)

Blakely can still make friends out side of homeschool but it’s mainly the parents decision. It’s important for her to get the best education she can weather the parents are teaching her or they hire a teacher.

We homeschooled our kids for most of their K-12 years. We travelled a lot. I think our four kids are better off for it. Part of our reasoning was, in fact, that academics are super important to us. I think you will love it and find it so rewarding.
