I've played against NotTheHackingDwight a little over a year ago before the cheating epidemic was even wide spread. He played normally until I hooked him once after a good mind game. He immediately started rage hacking, came to my stream after game to try to stir trouble. Claimed he has thousands of hours in game and only hacks because he's bored of the game. Why tf is he still not hardware banned?

In the ptb patch notes it said something about hackers. Hopefully people don't have to go through this stuff for much longer, but I don't exactly have a lot of faith in bhvr fixing it

Regrettably, I have run into this exact same hacker before. Coincidentally against a bubba as well. Ended up doing the same thing with the locker trick. Things didn't go his way and he forcibly made the game end some way. At least he didn't hold anyone hostage. Good work on your part as well as Bubba for knowing the only way around these players. Corrupt + Deadlock + Pain Resonance + Lethal Pursuer is probably just about the most simplistic build to turn your brain off and just go for chases. I average around 3.25 kills per game, though I do play a bit sweaty. If you put in the hours and you don't care if you have to camp, tunnel, and slug to win then the game becomes a decent bit more manageable. Not to mention that getting to Red Ranks later down the line is pretty easy. Its just about time played at that point, since black pipping is pretty difficult imo. Assuming of course you are playing high tier killers. If you're playing low tier killers, then ignore what I'm saying since you're playing a completely different game lol.
Surprisingly have never got a single hacker in my lobbies, feel like its mostly just streamers getting targeted and if they stop giving these hackers attention they'll eventually stop. dont give them the reaction they want outta u either. Feel like the more reactions and attention they get the more they will do it. Been player since November 2020 ^^

The killer was nervous who was the hacker so he let us go and open the gate. Surprisingly didn't keep me hostage, as he eventually left. Idk why, but glad I haven't ran into them in awhile. Hopefully the hacking problem stops.

If I lose all my progress to corrupt data and corrupt save files. 2. If I encounter a other hacker in a game to stop them. And 3. If there's items that's taking to long to get like Borderlands 1,2 and 3 or the grind is too much to bare but only for co-op grinding games not games like Monster Hunter World because that won't be right.
Switching to another platform when you’re held hostage is such a power move, I love it. It happened to Stalky Boi recently and he just swapped to PC as the hacker wasted their time for two hours offscreen in their dead match.

If bhvr could actually just put up a code that if the game sense someone hacking it just ends the match immediately. That would definitely solve the problem without working to hard into trying to ban a hacker that just creates multiple accounts. I bet bhvr probably won’t do it because it could possibly kill match making in general. Would be worth a try for them to test run it.
Bit late, but it tends to not be that easy, I wish it was though. Engaging in an arms race with hackers like that just wastes development time and resources on systems that have the potential to be game breaking for normal, legit players too.
i've played killer more lately, and i've notice some more subtle stuff. Had people that were definitely going a little faster than they should have and making it take way longer to catch up than it should have. then i get the one that just disappears the moment i downed them and then 5 seconds later they were at fully healthy state. . . then people have the nerve to complain about survivor wait times lol. its cuz killers are tired of trolling hackers who have nothing better to do with themselves then to ruin a game for others

Great video. 10/10 Hacker's like that Dwight are yet another example of why I won't be returning to DBD until they implement a yield/surrender match feature which does not count as a DC so no DC penalty (team agrees to surrender, match ends with other team winning. All 4 survs have to agree, but if a hunter wants out, they can just surrender whenever after so many seconds have elapsed (like, 2 minutes)).
Former dev McClean made a comment on the surrender feature and he just called it "competitive nonsense" so there isn't one coming anytime soon unfortunately.

I've played over 100 different games, and many of the SINGLE PLAYER CASUAL games and OTHER MULTI-PLAYER NON COMPETITIVE games have a no-penalty surender feature. Advance wars (all titles) let you yeild in the SINGLE PLAYER against the AI. Professor Layton lets you back out of a puzzle no consequence. IDV lets either side surender. Having a surender option is THE MOST CASUAL NON-COMPETATIVE thing I can think of! It's a "hey I'm not having fun anymore" button. Sorry about the rant Had to get it off my chest.
They can flashlight blind you even when you're facing walls now. Had a group of 2-3 hackers in my first game back for 5ish months, and they were managing to get blinds even when I was facing a wall :c

As I've told my friends in the past... If someone feels the need to hack/cheat in a game, then they don't need to be playing that game.
I find the only exception to which, is single player games. Aka Turok, Resident Evil, MegaMan, or Fire Emblem.

Switching to another platform when you’re held hostage is such a power move, I love it. It happened to Stalky Boi recently and he just swapped to PC as the hacker wasted their time for two hours offscreen in their dead match.
I wish there was a thing like a perma ban where it bans the player for life and make it where they can't just make a new account. When they do that he's gotta know he's gonna be one of the first to go.

So wholesome. I had to do this once, but a long, long time ago. There was a short period where hackers were pretty common, then they died out, and I guess now they're back.

If bhvr could actually just put up a code that if the game sense someone hacking it just ends the match immediately. That would definitely solve the problem without working to hard into trying to ban a hacker that just creates multiple accounts. I bet bhvr probably won’t do it because it could possibly kill match making in general. Would be worth a try for them to test run it.
Bit late, but it tends to not be that easy, I wish it was though. Engaging in an arms race with hackers like that just wastes development time and resources on systems that have the potential to be game breaking for normal, legit players too.
This man right here, is a hero. I wish most survivors and killers worked together do the same as well.

Watching a survivor chasing a killer feels so weird
i've played killer more lately, and i've notice some more subtle stuff. Had people that were definitely going a little faster than they should have and making it take way longer to catch up than it should have.
then i get the one that just disappears the moment i downed them and then 5 seconds later they were at fully healthy state. . . then people have the nerve to complain about survivor wait times lol. its cuz killers are tired of trolling hackers who have nothing better to do with themselves then to ruin a game for others

Hacker's like that Dwight are yet another example of why I won't be returning to DBD until they implement a yield/surrender match feature which does not count as a DC so no DC penalty (team agrees to surrender, match ends with other team winning. All 4 survs have to agree, but if a hunter wants out, they can just surrender whenever after so many seconds have elapsed (like, 2 minutes)).
Former dev McClean made a comment on the surrender feature and he just called it "competitive nonsense" so there isn't one coming anytime soon unfortunately.

Yeah, I watched that video and that Devs spheel ticked me off no end.
"Competitive nonsense"? I've played over 100 different games, and many of the SINGLE PLAYER CASUAL games and OTHER MULTI-PLAYER NON COMPETITIVE games have a no-penalty surender feature.
Advance wars (all titles) let you yeild in the SINGLE PLAYER against the AI.
Professor Layton lets you back out of a puzzle no consequence.
IDV lets either side surender.
Having a surender option is THE MOST CASUAL NON-COMPETATIVE thing I can think of! It's a "hey I'm not having fun anymore" button.
