For years I heard "You the real MVP", but didn't know it was from the NBA. When I became a fan recently and learned that was a KD speech, it hits so much harder every time I hear it now

Kobe genuinely gave me hope in life and I was inspired by his story and he made me to persevere against hardships because we will eventually prevail. It was also their first championship in 7 years. The post game moments and interviews made me cry, Manu and his children, Pop like a proud father with Kawhi and TP but especially the one by Doris Burke on Tim Duncan with his children. He talks about the sacrifice and the hardships they've come through and winning on the day of Father's Day is a very special moment.

The way he was going, he would have been one of, if not, the best of all time. He got smacked with injuries but still wouldn’t let that end his career, even though he couldn’t do what he did in ‘08 any more. D Rose is a true man. He didn’t make excuses for his fall in greatness, he just worked with what he was given.
