My feeling is that Jamie Dorn wasn’t made for this part and that’s why the actor is able to give a sympathetic voice to this control freak. In the book it shows him in therapy which sadly was cut out of the movie. Then there’s the contrast with “the boss” who exhibits the same behaviors as Christian without the respect or try to be better.
My fav scene is when they meet and Anacasks if he is gay. He sits on the desk, grabs a hold and this is the moment he realizes he likes her. He asks her what question she wants to ask, and you see his eyes go from business-like to prey....😯

Omg, he was not good at all. I was so happy when Charlie was going to do it. I could really see him in that role. I was very disappointed in Jamie. I really couldn't connect with him in that role.
