The only reason Inosuke and Zenitsu arent in this arc is because Tanjiro only came to this village to get a new sword, and the other 2 already left for other missions. Hatred was formed because Anger consumed all the other emotions
re: these Upper Ranks feeling weaker. what most ppl forget is that Tanjirō is now considerably stronger than when he fought UM 6. s2 Tanjirō wouldn't stand a chance even against the Four Emotions demons. in "Never Give Up" (s2 finale) he powered up (when his mark and hair grew) just to be able to cut off Gyūtarō's head and he had to use all of his strength for that when here he used the same technique against 3 of the Four Emotions like it was nothing. the thing with Hantengu is that he's extremely hard to defeat 1v1 because he has sooo many "failsafes", he's like a hydra, "cut off one head and two more...". so for any Demon Slayer, Hashira or not, it would be extremely hard to defeat him. is not that every individual demon that comes from Hantengu is necessarily super strong, is that he's almost unbeatable when you fight alone, even more if you've never fought him before and don't know his tricks. the two UM here fight in a completely different way to UM 6, Daki and Gyūtarō were a lot more confrontational, Hantengu and Gyokko are much more deceptive and cowardly, but that doesn't mean they're weaker than UM 6, is just a fighting style. i think it also feels more lame as fights because in the manga the pacing is much faster and the fight (at least vs Hantengu) felt much more dire and with higher stakes, here the pacing is a bit off, feels a little bit dragged. but yeah tl;dr: these UM are definitely stronger than Gyūtarō, like especially Hantengu, he's _tough_ . we haven't seen much from Gyokko yet, but being able to trap a Hashira like Tokitō that easily shows that he's full of surprises.
(Spoilers ahead) No only is Hantengu really good at escaping near death situations but his clones are no joke too. Zohakuten himself almost killed Mitsuri WHILE she had her mark activated. That is a huge power jump. Gyokka is kinda weird since his abilities are more summoning related. He is kind of like Douma but a lesser fishy version of him when it comes to fighting.
@@MarSaMa_21 yeah, i agree. that's why i used "necessarily". ik Zōhakuten is a beast. and Gyokko is super strong but also very prideful and it's super easy to get on his nerves. imo that's why he seems weaker, but he has a lot of OP techniques. also, please use a spoiler warning. parts of your comment discuss later events.
