    I'm laughing because we have one that ironically sprouted right next to our burn pile! We have burned it, mowed it & enjoyed it!! It doesn't die & keeps on giving!-
    BEST tomato ever!!

      Penny Mock that’s too funny! My friend Lea on the east coast of Florida calls it the hurricane tomato because not even a hurricane will kill it! I’m thrilled to have something so hardy on our homestead! Too bad my kitchen garden wasn’t as easy to grow! Glad you got a laugh! 💚🥰

      Andresa Novo yes!!!! The more we grow our own food the more we realize we don’t really have control! Learning what grows naturally and not trying to combat every pest in the garden! God has a beautiful eco system and the more we mess with it the bigger mess we make! 😍

    I have something similar but we live in CT where the winters are pretty hard. Someone must have dropped a tomato in our flower garden years ago but for at least the last 4 years, it's come back every year around June and it's loaded with tomatoes all summer!

      Jennifer Ahlberg gotta love that!!! Those type of volunteers seem to be the hardiest and great producers!!! 😍

      The Wilding's Landing come on up , we can give you some maters! Then just stick them in the ground and ignore them!

      @@WildCoffeeHomestead, let me get through this move, which is super consuming right now, and, then watch for information about a possible upcoming seed exchange. I would like to invite some of our Florida homesteads to our place for a campout/seed exchange.

    Vegie plants are funny things aren't they. I tried and tried to grow a variety of pumpkin with no success, but I ended up with one self seeding near the chicken coop that tried to take over my whole life and was SO productive. I've just found one cherry tomato plant that is still producing fruit in the dead of winter. We've only got low as 3c, but I'm going to prune it back and see if I can perenialise it. How wonderful when these plants do their own thing so well!

      I totally agree! My best and healthiest plants this spring have been those who have self seeded. I currently have a beautiful pumpkin vine growing out of my compost bin so I’m hoping it will actually produce something. So far only male flowers. 😜

    Are those also called Tommy Toes? And I think the same thing! Do I baby my plants too much haha, probably!

      @WildCoffeeHomestead  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kris Waters I don’t think they are the same. They are also known as currant tomatoes originating in Ecuador and Peru. I just spotted a volunteer in the same area as the last one. Really hoping it’s an Everglades!!!! I definitely baby mine way too much! 😜

    Same thing happens to me.if i care about something, it doesn't do well at all. I can throw it in the woods and it will sprout

      Garden Down South that is the honest truth! I’ve got to figure this out! Lol I make myself crazy with my seed starts under grow lights.....too much water, not enough water, lights too low, lights too high. Probably should just through the seeds into the garden and walk away!!!! 🥴

      Inspired to soar I’m not sure.... a friend gave me a bunch of the tomatoes and told me to just stick them in the sand and break them open a little. I planted probably 50 and 1 came up! Lol

      Welcome to natural germination. If you arent trying to grow high intensity you can often just throw seeds down and they do really well at figuring out whens a good time to grow.
