I agree with several comments that the best camo depends heavily on the time of year, but more specifically the area you battle in. In my area, I've found that woodland colored tiger-stripe performs the absolute best out of every camo type or style I've encountered
In my area best camos are either Woodland BDU, Multicam, or Marpat woodland in the more wooded areas in Summer. In Fall is Chocolate Chip, Multicam, and Marpat Arid if a away from the wooded areas. Winter is UCP or Multicam. Chocolate Chip oddly works well but does lose some effectiveness in summer but works year around. Same but less starkly with multicam. I am in Kansas in both grasslands and light to moderate woodland. I wouldn't call it forest.
Great video! Wow, you can talk long while staying on track. I have a problem with going off on tangents which have tangents which have tangents. I was told that snipers and such are trained to look for black objects.
You did a good job. I liked the different segments for the camoflage. I played a bit of a game with it where I tried to spot you before you started moving. Movement is probably any camoflage's greatest weakness it would seem.
Several times i would have walked right up to you and had no idea you were there. I knew you were hiding in the video but half of the time you basically disappeared. Great demo and a helpful video.
Kyle Meier i would say coyote brown plate carrier and battle belt with white uniforms. If you live where evergreen trees grow, then you should mix it with some green camo. Otherwise the brown will blend with the trees.
German Army snow camouflage, both in suits and poncho's. Cheap and effective. There are a few with green blotches on them. www.asmc.de/Schneetarnanzug-Style
I use Flecktarn for fall and winter, but Flecktarn is a NO, NO for spring and summer, because Flecktarn is very dark. For the summer I use Multicam dyed light green, so the tan colors get a light green shade. I use both pattern because of the availability and affordability. I am not an American, but my country borders Germany, so Flecktarn I can acquire in clothing, tents, map cases, backpacks, headgear. Multicam clothes I can buy in my own country.
@@ethanleslie8329 other than the design it does a good job in mountainous areas, desert, and woods. When you're laying down it works as a sort of background noise your brain isn't gonna interpret that grayish thing as a person. Also works even better at night it's harder for people to see using night vision. Ya it doesn't work that good in lush green environments but you can dye it using apple green and you'll have the perfect lush/jungle camo.
I think we can all agree that UCP is possibly the WORST camo ever........ Pretty much anything else is better... But people put too much emphasis on the type on camo they wear like just wearing camo will make them invisible... I don't wear camo, but I do wear earth tones and it works great in most applications that I deal with... Counter-shading (e.g. wearing lighter colored pants and a darker colored top) works well and sometimes even better than a full outfit of the same pattern camo... There are things people don't think about that are as important if not more so than camo: shape, silhouette, shine, sound, movement, and color, etc...
In 1962 the US Army conducted a bias test of camouflage patterns with the intend of making camo patterns fails (the brass hated camo, because they were WW2 veterans. The nazi wore camo). So they choise South Carolina in winter time, with tan and brown colored dead, dried vegetation, And the best camo pattern was Khaki, a tan color. I heard from a SC hunter that he wears 6 color desert camo in winter and it works well.
Best camouflage depends on your area, conditions, and time of year.
Your hair color stands out.
This was extremely useful thank you! Loved the testing segments.

Happy Mad Scientist lol when I’m watching Brents channel I usually look for black spots to find him.

Great video man. Very informative.
Good thorough comparison and demonstration. Thanks for the data
I enjoyed your Video. Good Job!
Very cool video. Where can you buy old uniforms? I'd love to have a backpack in one of those patterns
Good Video 👍

Is that civil air patrol BDU? Love the videos!
OCP is newer. However, it also depends on if it's W1 or W2. I am certain you have W2 "OCP."
Sage green is on the DCU . One of the best desert uniforms ever.
You got muticam and OCP mixed up, multicam came before OCP and OCP was based off of multicam.
I think in order with watching would have been, woodland, atacs, project honor, multicam ocp, then the rest did pretty bad
which one does best with a little snow on the ground?

Finnish M05 Camouflage Winter Gear 😉👌 fine stuff

ABU digital tigerstripe works well with some snow and bare trees
Definely underrated
For reference sake, what part of the US are you in?
Great video, hope it works for paintball to
Are you in Civil Air Patrol? I saw you wearing the bright blue name tape on the BDU’s but the BDU went out of commission

Nice video. very helpful.
Gomer Pyle
What are you thinking about Acu ??
2:45 Yeah, odd to do that.
M81 is gods camo
NVA Strichtarn :D
UCP still remains my favorite it doesn't deserve the hate that it gets.
Why do you like it? I do hear the uniform cut is alright but is there any other reasons?

El woodland a pesar de que su diseño es histórico, es el más fácil de detectar.
The army already transitioned to OCP.
We are the Miller's
M81 Woodland is the best Allrounder!
Woodland digital is good.
The question is not, what camo is the best, it'S the question, what camo fits the current conditions and surroundings the best...
Is that my civil air patrol uniform 😳🥹
I don’t care the area I like The woodland camo
Multicam is the best.
Dark brown would be better instead of black.

What stick out in an environment? Your hair lol
Tiger stripe is the best bro stop fronting

Also, why are you using desert camouflage in a woodland environment? there's a bit of a hint in the name to why it doesn't work in the woods!
