  • I am all in on cool flowers this season! These are cold hardy annuals that should bloom in June when you don't have much else flowering. I think this is the year I really nail it...hopefully.

Nice video. I love how much info you get out to us. Found the wanderings of the cats and the puppy amusing.

Thanks for all your videos! I love binge watching them and cannot wait to hear more of what you are growing this year! I got to swap seeds with you in the jcm seed swap and I can't wait to grow Pippins golden honey. I believe I sent mermaid tomato seed 😊

Good to know about indian summer rudbeckia. I bought Sahara this season not realizing it was shorter. I like to use frozen dinner meal trays with soil and sprinkle seeds in, then prick them out and put yhem in seed starting trays. I've been playing with soil blocking this season but it seems like more work😅

Nice video!! Your a wealth of knowledge on varieties. Here in North Carolina the old folks called Queens Ann Lace chigger weed and a chigger is a tiny insect like a mite that Burroughs in your skin and creates a bump that itches like mad for about a week . Some people also call them red bugs further north hope y’all don’t have those creatures in Indiana there some kind of irritating bad to get on your ankles and waste line and itch like crazy. Queens ann lace grows in other weed patches here and you walk through and your sure to get some hints the name I guess just a tidbit from the south😂lol but they are pretty

This is wonderful. If you want to keep what you have, do Not vote. Give them NOTHING.

Hi- love your videos so relevant to trying all new things to grow and having the determination to succeed. I was failing at Bupleurum as well until last year. I just scattered seeds around my garden in the snow and they actually grew and sprouted. I think they needed stratification. I believe I threw them down in Feb or March bu definitely in a bit of snow covering so they soaked into the soil when the snow melted. Good luck!!

Welcome to Indiana huh? Our winter has been mild. And then yesterday mother nature dropped four inches of snow on us here in Stone Bluff, Indiana. Great video Kim, keep em coming. Good luck with all your plantings.

When they are tiny I use a mister and once they have roots the blocks stay together! I blast them with the same water I do everything else 😂

Thanks for your video! I"m trying cool flowers again this spring- I grew them last year but fell and broke my wrist so the year was basically a wash...BOO!!! But I'm having a hard time germinating my Rudbeckia seeds- I have reseeded Sahara 3x's now...but they are all struggling...I can't figure it out...any suggestions? oh, I have them on heat for the first 24/hrs then up on a cookie cooling rack on heat mat...under lights... I also did them to start on the heat mat and only a few germinated...the second time I had them on heat for a few days then pulled them...and I do spray with water daily to help the seed break dormancy...🤔 Any one with more experience have any suggestions?

I keep mine on the heat mat until 50% have germinated! Usually takes about a week 🤷🏼‍♀️ rudbeckia is a tough one and I never have 100% germination

I just sowed some last week and I definitely keep them covered under a clear lid until they germinate. Many times people struggle with indoor planting because they don't keep the seeds moist enough until they sprout. Also if the seeds are older sometimes that effects the germination rate
