- In this videos, I have explored Jowai City - the 2nd largest city in Meghalaya. Jowai is also the capital of Jaintia Hills, the heart of Meghalaya. Jowai is known for its scenic places that are unique in comparison to those in Khasi and Garo hills in Meghalaya. Jowai also has the 2nd biggest market in Meghalaya after Shillong. You will see countless vendors in Jowai market selling local handicrafts, local food, flowers, dry fish and more. Jaintia hills in Meghalaya is also the home to few of the hidden and famous waterfalls including Phe-Phe Waterfall which is sort of hidden place. The area is yet to be explored as not many people know about this waterfall. Krang Suri Waterfall is a famous one from Jaintia Hills - I would be showing this waterfall in the next vlog :)
The culture, hidden waterfalls, lush green area, local food, smiling people and historical bridges make Jowai - the major part of Jaintia Hills a must-visit tourist attraction in Meghalaya :)

jaintia hills is a place with ample of hidden gorgeous caves and waterfall that most people aren't aware of..

I visited Jowai, khlieriat ,nongstoin but comparing to Tura Town this town are small . I think Tura is the 2nd largest town in meghalaya after shillong .

The step 1 was just the appetizer. The step 2 waterfall is the main waterfall of Jaintia Hills. The view from the bottom is a once in a lifetime experience. But best visited during the rains

Jowai was a town where my husband got posted for 3 years and it's been 5 years we left that place. i spot my landlady at 1:30 in red cloth standing. what a wonderful and caring lady.. so many familier faces i can see in your background, whom i met and greeted regularly.. i am from Gujarat, but i still tell my husband that Jowai is my home, my heart lives there.

Jaintia is the region in the far east of Khasi land sister...the people lived there we called Pnar a sub-tribe of Khasi. In Khasi we have different sub-tribes they are Bhoi, War, Pnar, Maram, Lyngngam and Khynriam.
One thing you missed. Jowai is the place where a lot of homeless desi dogs from Delhi got adopted. 😊😊😊

I was born in Jowai,, grown up there.. Lived there for 16 years..... Did my schooling upto class 10 from Jaintia Secondary School. I left Jowai in 2009 for further studies. Still I miss my childhood days, friends.....The saddest part is I never find any of my classmates nor my friends in social media. I tried searching them all over Facebook and Instagram but still couldn't find any of them. I don't know how are they where are they,, I wish I could contact them..If anyone reads this from 2009 Batch of Jaintia Secondary School please leave a reply..
