    Can Future Days is probably their most consistent album. It is my favorite Can record.

    Love Where’s the Money. Very intimate. Last Train to Hicksville is probably their best studio effort.

    Dan Hicks....the driest funniest intros ever. Even his thank yous at the end of a song would make you laugh. Maybe the only musical performer i wanted to hear talk during a show. And every intro led to a great song.

    Deep Purple was supposed to record at that place in Montreux that burned down due to some loonie at a Zappa / Mothers concert (it is in the lyrics). They finally found a deserted hotel as a replacement for recording which caused considerable noise leakage problems in the neighborhood.
    What do early 70ies Deep Purple and Can (from Cologne Germany) in common (except the long hair)? Full control of the recordings. Either by renting the Stones mobile or -way more modest- creating one's own studio with two Revox tape machines (two-track pin-pong technology, way outdated at the time, but it meant independence).

    I've been watching most of your videos over the years and have learnt so much from you .I don't want think I'm teaching you how to "suck eggs" but 3 artists that I've never heard get a mention. From Seattle the Green Pajamas, and from the UK the wonderful Bevis , Frond as well as an amazing singer who was offered the job to replace Jim Morrison in the Doors ..Kevin Coyne. Hopefully you will give them a mention as I know what an influential guy you are

    Being English, I always romanticise the Great American Swamplands (though god knows why !) so hearing you mention "swamp rock" made my ears prick up. I've just checked out Tony Joe White and I think it's a good description, though again I don't really know why. Is it because he's from Louisiana ? Funnily enough, Ian Gillan of Deep Purple recorded a song called New Orleans with his Gillan band but sadly you couldn't really call it swamp rock. Anyways (as I think they say down south), a great vid.

    That first Clash album is frustrating on vinyl because the US and UK versions both have essential songs that aren’t on the other. You need to have both versions! Ege Bamyasi is my favorite Can too. I don’t think calling Can neo psychedelic is inappropriate at all. They definitely have some LSD in their DNA.

    Dude - Mango Tango? I don't think your critique could have been anymore abbreviated. CAN was seminal German Progressive (Krautrock) music at its finest. CAN stated that no CAN song is finished. CAN is god!!!

    • @mazzysmusic
      @mazzysmusic  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@birdy1numnum can is not metal at all and you know that. In the 70s I bought Can , Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and lots of Prog. Hard and metal was limited to Sabbath, Purple, Zep, Thin Lizzy , Hawkwind. So more experimental in a way.
      Then Punk, post punk, art rock and experimental & industrial ehit, and l loved most of those bands more and thought alot of metal and hard rock was boring.
