The software can do more since it has built in effects and 8 voice polyphony and the oscillator sounds pretty darn close to the hardware. BUT! The filter sounds much better on the hardware. The filter on the softsynth sound inaccurate and has stepping. If you dont own this synth and want much better filter then you can find this synth pretty cheap. However if you want the softsynth version then spending 100 dollars is a bit expensive in my opinion, its after all a simple synthesizer.
Just got it - And yes - I also own the excellent Knifonium (which I recommend). I don't know why such a simple synth uses so much CPU though - it's been an issue with all Arturia plugins of late - especially their augmented series.
As much as I appreciate the plugin, I feel like it was a misstep to not just release it as the 2 iteration of the synth. Which I can only assume is coming eventually as a separate plugin/purchase. need to check my acct settings as I am not getting emails about these releases...
@@audiotoolshed im aware of the additions. I usually buy these as they come out between V or FX Collections but I can't help but wonder if a MiniBrute 2 V is coming at this point.
It's worth the $50 I paid for it but in all honesty, I pretty much just hear "another synth." Not much unique in terms of sound to me. Probably a synth tweaker would appreciate it more.

Good review ! I own the hardware and have to say they got pretty close and added cool extra features...

Yeah I don’t know as well. Knifonium is great but rather involved to use. That sound though - amazing.
Excellent review! Definitely going to check this one out - Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
The kick introduced at 03:12 is barely audible. Any problem with the video or is it at my side? Cheers.
No its mostly low end thump right from the synth without any extra processing.
Thanks for you reply. Good review, as usual! Cheers.
I love it but im pretty shocked at the cpu usage, i even notice you get the same as me 30 percent area, hooe it gets a update soon to smooth that out
Arturia calls it an issue so my guess is, yes, they will.
Love the mini tutorial
I think you're on to something with that disco hit.
Needs a female singer and maybe some italian can produce it.
@@audiotoolshedHaha, inderdaad. Toffe review zoals gewoonlijk, Marlon.
I really adore arturia’s analog processor emulations. Eqs and compressors are some or the best on the market
This one is up there as well IMO.
Technically on the hardware it's just 1 oscillator, what Arturia call's complex oscillator
Yup!

Fair point. Though this is not a one on one emulation of minibrute mk1, it has some extra functions like the effects section.

Always best thumbnails😂
I can't imagine why. I dont even want the hardware for free.
