I am an educational therapist in practice for 25 years. I have degrees in mathematics and psychology and a Masters in special education. I review and explain testing to parents all the time. The testing presenter did not explain that the WISC test scores are based on statistics. I show the parents a bell curve chart to demonstrate the spread of the standard scores, so they understand the "rarity" of the high and low scores. I also explain that each standard score is matched with a percentile. I find that the percentile scores are much easier for parents to understand, but I make sure they understand the bell curve to so they get the correct idea of the rarity of the high and low scores.
This was a great break down for understanding dyslexia! Dyslexia has to do with an individuals whole learning process, not just reading and writing.

Hi Susan, the slide presentation is the only recording we have from this conference so this is the only available visual.
