As someone who loves obscure UC material this channel is such a gift. I really like how persuasively you've argued that Metatron is a successor organisation to Marty. I first remember Mark Simmons suggesting this, and I think it's such a neat idea that draws together HF and GG and makes both texts richer. This whole channel has made a really interesting case for Gaia Gear as a very layered ambitious conclusion to UC, and you also guide us through the stories in a very engaging way! Also the whole Jack Bloom thing, mind blown. GG really feels to me like the final great unknown of UC for Western fandom lol. I mean maybe the only other Tomino UC thing even more obscure is Tomino's Looking for Avenir, but I still don't even know if that's meant to be a UC prequel or not.
Oh yeah! Looking for Avenir! I totally forgot about this one. I found out about that one while perusing the Gundam wiki one time. It’s definitely a weird one. Less Gaia Gear. More, Turn A, in approach. The fact that it’s a prequel is something I find the most strange. As it still has mech suits in it.
@@GaiaGaiyus Yeah, it's actually extremely unclear if it is a prequel or not. It uses terms like Minovsky Particles, but takes place in AD, which obvs doesn't line up with the timeline, and as you say there's like, mechs (and I think a faked alien invasion or something?) But I think there might also be space colonies under construction, so maybe it is meant to be kind of a reimagining of pre-UC? I'd be very curious if someone who read Japanese was able to unpack what exactly it is haha
