this is so beautiful, i don't care if its not polished or whatever, that makes it even better. you can feel the raw emotion from bert's vocals and lyrics
This song will be there for u when no one else will. This song has talked me off the edge, taken the pills from my hands, and the blade away from my jugular too many times to count. Bert is a fuckin genius!
Is there away back to the 2000s please take me and dont bring me back leave me there to die before 2012 thats when the 2000s left us for ever and i want it backk 😭 ill remain dead inside until i see it all come back
there is no band on this earth that comes close to the Used. hands down my favorite. every song. so emotional and heartbreaking, yet beautiful. they got me through so much since I was 13 and keep me going. it's amazing what music can do. it truly saves lives.
I had a torrented version of their self titled album when i was a kid and it was a mix of these demos and the final studio versions. Didn't hear the studio version of this song until recently. May be nostalgia speaking but i love this version way better, it's so much more raw and emotional, wish they kept this sound
as far as these demos go, no doubt the passion and rawness feels good sometimes better then the actual CD but the placement and subtle lyrical changes on the final versions make all the difference in the world to me these are still awesome though
you know what... fuck the world... nothing else matters... nothing else but music.. not crappy music... but good, quality music. ones that shake and rattle youe soul because when you listen to the song youre listening too... you feel every emotion that they felt when they wrote the song.. you feel the sadness and the pain and the hurt and the happiness that comes in it... you dont worry about anything.. anything but the music
I've never heard this version of the song before. It's great to hear a young band that feeds off of the prospect of having finally found a suitable singer. From what I understand, they auditioned several singers and they felt doomed until McCracken showed up. It hardly sounds like the vocals were recorded "in a closet," but I could be wrong. Shouldn't be much different than recording vocals in the bathroom, a tried and true method employed by The Doors and The Animals.
i can see how their interest and lifestyles and everything have changed since back in these days until now with artwork and vulnerable and stuff. its so professional and quality recording now but i miss the angsty screaming at 4am in a parking lot band i most loved
dude fucking perfect way to put it......He had so much in the first one.....and thats what everyone loves about the used.....just not alot of people can explain why. and its just the rawness in his voice mixed with beautiful lyrics
dnarcy8, I actually think the demos are pretty awesome and it also shows how far they've come to where they are now. Oh and just a though for you to consider, musicians shouldn't brag about how good they are or how many instruments they can play AND they shouldn't disrespect to other musicians if they ever want to make it big. =D
well.. anyone whose life revolves around music and knows music would know that one cannot argue with another one for his taste.. anyone has a diffrent taste.. my taste is a taste of ink ^^
First heard this back when I was 16 ...l didn't really like this song... Funny how now that I'm 22 and gone through some trials, I feel like I can relate.
I sing this for my late best friend almost weekly. This song literally gets me through the most painful thing I’ve ever faced. I never knew what this song would mean to me later in life 💜💜🥲
I don't know what you are trying to say? Are you implying that their new album is bad? Because I personally have never heard a bad song by The Used. They make music about their lives. So as their life changes so does their music. And frankly it would be boring if they made the same CD over and over again. I love that they re invent themselves every CD.
@sammyboyyy55555 i got it off of ebay they only made a 100 copies of it and i got one of them and cd artwork is just for the studio demo cuz i got a offical one and that artwork ant on it its a good demo to be honest it sounds better off the offical demo cd then on youtube!
it has to do with the different type of genres they play now, people aren't to hot with the new "genre" including me, but i respect your opinion, now the question is can you respect our opinion too?
I think Bert hurt his voice and actually had surgery on it. So he can no longer sing loud and scream, which makes a lot of sense when you look at Vulnerable and why it's not quite as dynamic and strong. They are trying new things as they progress as a band, but they still make beautiful music today imo. I liked Put Me Out, Now That You're Dead, and Hands and Faces from Vulnerable. You should check them out. :)
i'm just not really a huge fan of their new album. it's okay, i just miss the emotion of their old stuff. i understand that bands change, just sometimes its not for the better
Damn, wonder what my girlfriend that I've been with for 2 years will say about this...I'm standing up for gay rights. Most people who insult gays or use gay as an insult are usually gay. And why are you on a Used video then? They stand up for it as well.
So using the term gay is an insult? So if I called someone straight that is an insult? Or if I said someone had blue eyes or brown hair, that's an insult? I don't get it, maybe you need to see a psychiatrist, or just get some common sense. Jeez.
The album version of any band has some magic that is done by the producer/sound engineer or whatever the fuck that is called. This is a raw recording, so raw that not any electronic/digital equipment had altered any part to sound more appealing for the commercial masses.
@@nekomancer7881 I mean the "He feels alone" part, that's a really good performance from a more technical singing standpoint, which I hate to say, but that's somewhat uncommon for Bert McCracken
this is so beautiful, i don't care if its not polished or whatever, that makes it even better. you can feel the raw emotion from bert's vocals and lyrics
It’s so emotional how he screams “and he takes his life”
He didnt die hes still living his names
Bert McCracken
This song will be there for u when no one else will. This song has talked me off the edge, taken the pills from my hands, and the blade away from my jugular too many times to count. Bert is a fuckin genius!
I'm glad you're still here.
Therapy
totally forgot about the demos. I'm happy i came across these.
esellanta wish i had one
Wow. The scream at the end was ...all encompassing. I always thought the other version was better but that just blew me away.
Cassandra Brown This version is definitely a lot better in my opinion.
I like this version over the actual finished version. Way more emotion.
I love their demos!!! I don't know why, they just sound really good even though they're demos.
Is there away back to the 2000s please take me and dont bring me back leave me there to die before 2012 thats when the 2000s left us for ever and i want it backk 😭 ill remain dead inside until i see it all come back

Beautifully said the used is and always will be my favorite band takes me back to so many good times as a young man.
Hailee 69 same for me, they saved my life more than once
MCR left the group.
I liked this before even listening because I know I will
Cool taught
Yeah man it's so much better, studio version is alright but... Demo version is so raw and awesome
Could not agree more
God damn. Coming across these demos just sent me back 17 years into the past. Holy shit
Interesting demo. Maybe these guys will go places.

Same and hard agree. They should have left it the way it was. Perfect.
3:17 gets me every time this is better version
one of my favorite The Used songs!! love this song
as far as these demos go, no doubt the passion and rawness feels good sometimes better then the actual CD but the placement and subtle lyrical changes on the final versions make all the difference in the world to me these are still awesome though

I really think it's funny how many bands out there claim to be hardcore, yet their vocalist suck. Now Bert, he knows how to fucking scream.
dude fucking perfect way to put it......He had so much in the first one.....and thats what everyone loves about the used.....just not alot of people can explain why. and its just the rawness in his voice mixed with beautiful lyrics
this is the best version of this song and the song i like best by them.....
Jesus fuck, you're right. Makes me want to cry.
El poder de un buen productor... Convirtió este boceto en una obra maestra. 😮 THE USED!!! 😎
Leaving my Mark as I've listened to this song's album
just love this song, and btw this demos are the best songs ever!
all of them..
this is my favorite album from them.
dnarcy8, I actually think the demos are pretty awesome and it also shows how far they've come to where they are now.

Like this version best
i love the voice of the vocal *--*
love the demo version
after hearing this, i feel emotionally exhausted. like a high on emotions
Love this music.
I second that motion.
damn his screams are so powerful!
Jesus, the unclean vocals sound amazing.
I sing this for my late best friend almost weekly. This song literally gets me through the most painful thing I’ve ever faced. I never knew what this song would mean to me later in life 💜💜🥲
Ummh its not shitty. its awesome:D i kinda like this more than the other versjon . the screaming part in the end is amazing
Is there anybody out there?…
Still listening
I've always liked the demo version better.
I love this unpolished version
I much prefer this version. The raw emotion and recording of the song makes me feel alive
so much memories from grind.
So fire 🔥
im in love with this song :)
Anyone got the lyrics to this version? Google doesnt seem to have the correct one. Thanks
This was the only version i knew
I thought this meant alot when I was 14. It means so much more at 34.
better then the cd vierson
This version is perfect.
god the demo is SO much better.
this is the best song the used ever made
where can u find this cd?_?
I don't know what you are trying to say? Are you implying that their new album is bad? Because I personally have never heard a bad song by The Used. They make music about their lives. Bands evolve, they aren't teenagers anymore
Wow! this is hella lot better!
love that movie
Única versão ever
I think this version sounds a lot better then the non-demo.
He sounds strung out on this one though.
Boom !!!
Boom!!!
So rigth!!!
So right !!!
@sammyboyyy55555 i got it off of ebay they only made a 100 copies of it and i got one of them and cd artwork is just for the studio demo cuz i got a offical one and that artwork ant on it its a good demo to be honest it sounds better off the offical demo cd then on youtube!
Oh my god!!! Very scream!!
@rekyrts2 agreed i spent a long time looking for this version when all my files got deleted
Wow.
Hey dudes its just a demo its supposed to sound that way. and bert's voice is amazing no matter what. you all know that. ^__^
this was kinda going to a screamo direction but not fully
And it stil sounded kool I dont think screamo exist think of more Ambient Rock side of heaviness.
the emotion in this track is intense, the lyrics are different does any one know it?
3:19 bestest scream B)
i like the studio version better..

it has to do with the different type of genres they play now, people aren't to hot with the new "genre" including me, but i respect your opinion, now the question is can you respect our opinion too?
1:51 always gets me

@filmboxprouductions1 yes mate i got it!
I come alive is a good song. -_-
ohh believe me i do i do
i'm just not really a huge fan of their new album. it's okay, i just miss the emotion of their old stuff. i understand that bands change, just sometimes its not for the better
The only shame is that you don't enjoy their new music, whereas others, like myself, do, but I don't that's because it has gotten worse.
vocals are better in this version but the clean guitar is werid sounding esp in the beginning
Damn, wonder what my girlfriend that I've been with for 2 years will say about this...I'm standing up for gay rights. Most people who insult gays or use gay as an insult are usually gay. And why are you on a Used video then? They stand up for it as well.
nawh arguing is deff not needed. but if you really want to I suppose so. lol
So using the term gay is an insult? So if I called someone straight that is an insult? Or if I said someone had blue eyes or brown hair, that's an insult? I don't get it, maybe you need to see a psychiatrist, or just get some common sense. Jeez.
how did they ever go from this to I Come Alive...it's really a shame
Everyone saying this version is better, but it's missing the best vocal performance on the album
The album version of any band has some magic that is done by the producer/sound engineer or whatever the fuck that is called. This is a raw recording, so raw that not any electronic/digital equipment had altered any part to sound more appealing for the commercial masses.
@@nekomancer7881 I mean the "He feels alone" part, that's a really good performance from a more technical singing standpoint, which I hate to say, but that's somewhat uncommon for Bert McCracken
sure am glad they fixed that mess!!!!!!
why cant all cds have a copy of the demos... shit im 13.. I am so sorry of what my generation hasdone to todays music*recieves slap on wrist*
