Thanks for this. So far I've replaced rears and was expecting weird flash issues, but you explained I won't see that until all 4 are done. Makes sense and I have my relay at the ready to swap and now I know where that goes too. Thanks again.
I just did the swap with my 2021 svartpilen and it was literally plug and play. Didn't have to cut and swap the connectors. Made the job much faster and easier. Guess they standardized the connectors after 2019 models? One difference though is that the US spec blinker is all one piece and didn't have that little plastic spacer. So my front blinkers aren't as spread out as on the video ( though it's a very minor thing)
@@alexsmith6031i just did the swap on my 2023 and I needed a relay. There also might be a difference between year bikes with the power/ground pins for the relay connector. I bought the same relay in the description, since I used it on my previous bike. When I swapped the relay, it didn't work. I swapped the red and black wire pins, using a terminal pin remover tool and it worked perfectly. So there's probably a difference between the bikes or just the relay I received was wired backwards 🤷♂️
Can you share a list of all the part numbers that you ordered for this mod? Were the relays included? Do you know offhand if they are the same parts for the Svart401?
The relay was not included I purchased that separately, there is an amazon link in the description as for part numbers here is what I ordered: HUSQVARNA - TURN SIGNAL LEFT 28114025000 x2, HUSQVARNA - TURN SIGNAL RIGHT 28114026000 x2, HUSQVARNA - NUT-HEX-FLANGED J926100003 x2, HUSQVARNA - TOOTHED WASHER, M10 J06797100183 x2, HUSQVARNA - WASHER M10 J125100009 x2, HUSQVARNA - NUT HEX THIN-M10X1.25 J934100006 x2 As for the Svart I believe they are the same, but im not 100% sure.
How is the relay working and holding up now that some time has passed since you did this? I always worry about using cheap electrical parts off Amazon such as a relay. Thanks for the video.
I sold the bike a few months after the install as I wanted to upgrade to something bigger, but in the few months that I had it post install I had absolutely no issues with any part that I installed including the relay, hope that helps.
@FifthNorth for swapping the connectors from the EURO spec to the US spec, did you have to clip the US spec connectors off the original turn signals and clip the euro connectors off, solder and shrink wrap? Would you happen to know if/where I can get the US spec connectors so that I could keep the original turn signal intact?
Correct I did, I had to cut the us ones up and no, unfortunately I dont know where to get us spec ones from. Maybe from a usa spec dealership (if you are based in the states).
Yeah I think the relay may have been specific to older generations of the 401, I have only tried it on my model year so I can't confirm if it will work or not on other model years.
Fair. I plugged it in and was so bummed, then saw a comment on your video suggesting flipping pins. Was pumped to see it worked. Thx for the fun videos and how to's
@@FifthNorth Very helpful! Did you end up buying hardware from the recommended website in addition to the actual turn signals? Like bushings or or hex nuts?
If there is a cheaper place to get the factory original please share, im sure everyone looking would appreciate it. That was the best that I found at the time when I did the mod.
@@FifthNorth Alright. I pulled the trigger after doing some OT. Order placed for Europeans LEDs. Going to get a relay from the local KTM dealer. Was switching the plugs on the ends fairly easy? I didn't see it being done, but heard you used heat shrink.
@@ItalianRain2 Yeah it really wasn't too bad, check out my other video where I do the tail tidy, I got in to a bit more detail on the cables. It's simply cutting the ends off of one and then splicing it in to the other, if you have ever done any type of wiring before it should be straight forward.

Did you still need the relay? I have a 2023 and want to swap.

Hello, thanks for the tutorials, where you buy the leds?
I found them on www.bike-parts-husqvarna.com shipping was a bit and took a few weeks to get them but outside of that everything else was great!

will this relay work on teh svartpilen401?
I cant say for sure as I have never tried it, but my understanding is that the svart/vit are basically the exact same bike, so it should.
