Yeah, I noticed the addition of the 2 bolts into the threaded holes to hold the secondary pulley plates apart in the service manual. But I didn't know where those bolts came from or why they were needed, for certain, until I was at that point and I did pull the old belt off and heard/felt the plates slap together and knew there was no way to get the belt back on properly without those bolts to hold the plates apart. So I made a trip to Lowe's and bought a few stainless bolts, M5- .80 x 40 mm. I knew the could be 30 mm and still work for this, or even longer too, but 40 mm was plenty long enough. Putting the belt back on was simple with those 2 bolts holding the plates apart. I am storing those 2 bolts (actually a package of 4) with my EasyBoost variator holder tool since I will want them handy for the next time. I never removed that pulley assembly at all since there is no need to do so. I also bought a set of 13 Torx bits and 12 e-Torx sockets and the 23 mm socket needed for this job. Adding to my special tools for working on bikes. Now I have just over 12,000 miles on mine and it's going great. Best bike I've owned. -rjs987

@@JQUICK21 dealer i bought it from, tech would not confirm they would work on it for several days. local dealer finally agreed to work on it for 1st service, even though they were listed on kymco’s website.

You don't need this special key.... just hit it wit power toll impact

Yeah, be good to order now and have it ready. Little expensive for shipping and parts but the tool will pay for itself the first time you is it 😎.
Change the belt at 12k? I'll stick with my old Vespa, which is practically maintenance-free

How often do you need to replace the roller weights ? I can't find it in the manuel
I'm not sure, when needed I assume. They were still somewhat good but I'm just going to replace them every 12k.
I have a kymco ak 550i super touring. My drive belt got broken. Want to replace it my own. Is this a difficult job to do?
For the rear wheel? A little bit, lot of stuff has to he removed and doing belt tension.
