I discovered that tithes are meant to be paid in a 7 year cycle called the *Shettimah Cycle* with year one repeated in year 4, year 2 repeated in year 5 and, year 3 repeated in year 6 (Numbers 18: 21-28). In year 1 and year 4, the tithe collected in this year is to be given to *all* workers in the church/synagogue including the Pastor/Priest. In addition to this and, depending on your status and generosity, some Jewish sects give the priest (pastor) an additional 1/40, 1/50 or 1/60 of their earnings. It was in this tithe that God rebuked the *priests* at the time for not bringing *all the tithes* into the God's storehouse (Malachi 2&3). This tithe is called the *Levitical tithe* . Year 2 and Year 5 (Year 2020 September was year 5) is to be gathered and at the end of that Jewish year (September 6th), it is to be presented to God and *consumed by the individual* on whatsoever he/she desires (Deuteronomy 14: 23-25). This tithe is called the *festival tithe* . I invest mine. Year 3 and Year 6 (Year 6 began September 7th, 2020 and ended September 6th, 2021) is to be gathered and spent on *the poor! *immigrant/foreigner, the widow and the orphan.* (Deuteronomy 14:28, Deuteronomy 26:12). This tithe is called the *triennial tithe* . Year 7 is the Sabbath year (it began September 7th, 2021 and ended September 6th, 2022) where there is no work or tithe for the Jewish community but for us gentiles who work, I like to share it between God's house and the poor. In this year all debts should be cancelled (Exodus 23: 10-11, Leviticus 25: 1-22, Leviticus 26: 33-35, Deuteronomy 15:1-6, Deuteronomy 31: 10-13, Jeremiah 34:13-14, Nehemiah 10:31, 2 Chronicles 36:20-21, 2 Kings 19:29, Isaiah 37:30). This tithe paying system may be why the Jewish community and the Jewish nation as a whole remains rich and great. Imagine if each of us gave to every poor immigrant/foreigner, every orphan, every widow we know in our vicinity in the Sabbath year There'd probably be less poverty, prostitution or crime in our neighbourhood. People can be rich and prosperous if each and every one of us studies and obeys scripture by searching out the truth by *ourselves and for ourselves* - and doing what scripture says irrespective of whether or not the pastor of your church adheres to scripture or, whether or not a tithe payer becomes unpopular in their *church building* for doing the right thing *by scripture* instead of doing the wrong thing by their pastor. Your average pastor would not want church members to know the real truth about tithes and offerings because it would disrupt the pastor's personal enrichment plan.
Tithing and first fruits made me live in guilt for years. Anything I missed, I felt cursed. Now I give freely not limited. Living under the grace of God.❤❤❤
I hope that you are free because Jesus the Christ made you free, not because of Creflo Dollar's or any other preacher's confession. There are many preachers teaching out of greed. We have to hear God for ourselves.
I have never been a close follower of pastor Dollar. But for this I greatly respect him. For a man to publicly humblic himself and admit error, is really commendable and pleasing unto God. I pray that he continues doing well in the faith. ❤🙌🏾🫱🏽🫲🏾 God bless you sir.

However is tithing a law: Genesis 14:19-20 And he blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; 20 and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him a tenth of everything. Genesis 28:20-22 Then Jacob made a vow, saying, “If God will be with me and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat and clothing to wear, 21 so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, then the LORD shall be my God, 22 and this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God’s house. And of all that you give me I will give a full tenth to you.
