Nothing wrong with Seiko, depending on which model obviously .The problem with high end mechanical watches other than the high purchase price , is the cost of servicing has become silly. If you own a few, you’re in for a few grand every 7-8 yrs and that can add up. After decades of collecting and owning many high end mechanical watches Im starting to prefer quartz again, and even solar quartz . Not expensive, no need to insure or worry about, no battery costs, no service costs , accurate, waterproof. I own a vintage Rolex and Im going to sell it asap. Not paying over a grand Aussie to service it, nope. By the way nothing wrong with Longines if you like it. The new Conquest with blue dial is actually nice and good bang per buck in my opinion .Nice entry piece .

Plus, they keep their value really really well on the used market, way way better than most other watches (except Rolex, Patek, AP of course).

My father owned a Bulova and his father before him did. Both men were solidly middle class, yet chose the watch of NEW YORK PEASANTS. I ended up buying 2 Bulovas myself from 20 years ago. One was a $900 Accutron and one was a $400 regular Bulova chronometer with a blue face. While the watches were attractive, the Accutron was a horrible piece of SH_T that had to be serviced in under 1 year from purchase. I took both to a pawn shop because I stopped wearing them many years ago: THE PAWN SHOP WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE ME TWENTY DOLLARS FOR EITHER. “We don’t take Bulova.”
I have long eschewed wearing a watch, but if I buy one agajn, it will NEVER be a Bulova. It will be AT LEAST a Breitling, but most likely an Omega or a Rolex. Maybe a Hamilton.

The mother of all PP or Rolex cannot compete in accuracy with a 50 bucks Casio quartz. You get an automatic watch for the “soul” of it. Having said that, an Orient Bambino is a beautiful soulful watch :) and it’s cheap. You want accuracy, get quartz.

The Seiko movements come FROM THE FACTORY with a tolerance of +/- 15 secs / day or 20 depending on the model.
Meanwhile I bought a Steinhart (530€) with a top grade ETA 2893-2 GMT movement that's been tested in the factory (comes with card of measurements) and it's running about + 2 secs / day for the last 7 months !!

My SKX tells pretty good time. +/- 5 seconds a day. Not terrible for what it is... my orient I had before I gave it away on the other hand was easily in the +/- 15 seconds a day range. Pretty garbage time keeping, even for a mechanical watch it’s bad. My Tudor Pelagos with in house movement is at +/- 2 seconds a day... you simply just can’t get that kind of performance out of a cheap nasty shitter automatic... ITS GOTTA HURT!!!!

?Sorry?, Bulova and Seiko are not "Garbage", Bulova had made the first "Tuning fork" Watch, and the vintage movements of bulova -in some cases- are better than in certain vintage rolexes, the watch in the left Corner in the pix, also dont look like garbage, ist this the Seiko? (PS maybe the Seiko 5 and the Bulova "Super Seville" are "Garbage")
