I feel bad for those who say "this is how you do it" and give a lesson. You people will NEVER understand the true meaning behind magic. Its not about exposing an act. Its about creativity, wondering what their doing next, creating entertainment. Making you wonder how they did that, making you believe and deceiving your eyes.
I love how people keep telling "oh its just a trick you can see this and that" OF COURSE IT IS MORONS, how about you do this yourself without messing up once instead of complaining that it's "rubbish"
Well he did mess up multiple obvious times, too sloppy and clumsy. Examples: - 1:25 right off the bat he messes up moving the extra balls from right hand to left hand. continues on a series of fuck ups. - 1:50 so easy to see him placing the 3rd ball into the cup. - 1:59 the ball stays in his left hand, easy to see... - 2:04 the same ball in his left hand is now placed into the cup. You see i can go on with OBVIOUS fuck ups like these. If you wanna see this trick done well then check out Penn & Teller's version of the trick where they show you the set-up, do it in CLEAR cups, and repeat it, and they still fuck with your mind... This guy's performance on the trick was a 3/10, his presentation an 8/10. His trick in the semi final was way better.
Yeah I know how the whole trick works with there being more cups under table with the tennis balls and there being four balls at the start but there no way I can move my hands fastest enough to exchange cups without getting caught.
Wow, wow, wow!!! This guy entertains us and makes us laugh in amazement with the oldest magic trick in history! ...Yes, he's that good! What a lesson to all self proclaimed magicians from the "TH-cam academy", who believe magic is about tricks, about fooling people. No, it's a show, it's a performance, and that guy is excellent and will get better with age.
Pretty clever story to go with the trick. It took me several times to kind of figure out how he did the trick. Even though he wasn't my favorite act, he was America's favorite and that's what counts!
Rinchen Lhadron, for some reason I cant comment on your post. " of course it has been done many times but! he is talking about how he did not not do it in this show!!!! if its bad or what so ever y dont u guys try to do it???? welll duh uh he has to switch the cups around. the point is he did it sooo smoothly and unnoticeable! he has talents! and he is entertaining gezz theses ppl never get satisfied!" But that is perfectly said. Exactly what I was thinking. Matt is a fun and amusing guy who knows what he is doing, and he is slick and smooth. WAY TO GO MATT
of course it has been done many times but! he is talking about how he did not not do it in this show!!!! if its bad or what so ever y dont u guys try to do it???? welll duh uh he has to switch the cups around. the point is he did it sooo smoothly and unnoticeable! he has talents! and he is entertaining gezz theses ppl never get satisfied!
you can see at the end with the tennis balls he puts the middle cup down and puts a tennis ball in it, then the right one down and put one in it, then the left one same thing, then when he picked up the middle one for the first tennis ball, he put another one in when he put it under the table again!
When I saw him pull out the cups and balls I was a bit disappointed but the key to his success of this trick is in its' presentation, it was snappy and fast and fun. Like doing a swing rendition of a Bon Jovi song.
look closley to his hands and the "glasses"(im not good at english...from Belgium) he does a couple of vanish tricks (EZ REEDS) and he puts the glasses and his hand under the table close to the end....that is how the big tennisbals come
Happy Forever!!! on 2:46 he brings the big ball of mel b in the game.....on 3:08 you need to look very closely.....when he shows mel b he then does the cup quickly under the table.....that's where he brought howard in the game
It takes alot of talent to pull that trick off. Everyone knows that its all in the slight of hand. But i bet no one here would be abe able to pull that off.
the small ball is pure hand speed trick. But when he turn to the big balls, it's quiet obvious he pick it out from under the table. But who cares, that what makes magic, "magic" Just enjoy
I don't know if it's me but I saw something moved off the table at 2:30-2:40 it looks like he was moving the cups and at the same time some silver piece flew out
I can't believe he won haha. His hands were shaking and he didn't thought of getting cups with a little dimple at the bottom to hold the balls. He almost dropped those balls. The trick itself is centuries old but the way he brought it was nice with a story but its not a million dollar act. AGT is going downhill with talents.
Amen Matt Franco your good at your skills:) you have the stuff as Christian illusionist magician bob scofield says if someone has good talent then they have the stuff :) InChrist allways chubby billpage illusionist magician in fun:)
I do find when I see a trick "I've seen before" (even if it's a different method), I find it hard to pay attention. I'm not a performer, so I cannot appreciate the skill and ability. As far as I know, all magicians are skilled. So I look for something new.
actually if u wanna know how the big balls come in end see the video carefully he is the the glass inside the table and he is putting the ball inside the glass
nathan wong seriously dude, this is the oldest trick in the book, (amateur magician here) try to look for gazzo magic you'll see a better performance of this trick , and he didn't even fool penn and teller because like I said , If you do magic , you probably know how this is done, now i can explain everything he did here but I won't . you'll laugh at yourself when you find out how this is done . but he did a SPLENDID job , this is AWESOME , but this is old
CzarAice01 all i am saying is if its SO FUCKING EASY THEN THE PEOPLE THAT ARE SAYING IT IS GO ON THE SHOW AND WIN THE DAMN THING. i have an idea how its done but i have been doing magic for three years or so and magic isn't about how easy the trick is hence the rule never do the same trick twice. its about how entertaining someone is. how they present it. etc not revealing how its done. there is a reason why he was the first magic act to ever win on americas got talent. sure some of the acts like singing were maybe old but regardless he won probably the biggest talent show in the US as a magic act and thats something no one can take away and thats what all the haters are trying to do by saying its easy blah blah blah if its so easy put your money where your mouth is and you do the same easy tricks (different though still on the same level) and you do it and win i doubt 99% of people will pass the first round
It really and truly does take a lot of skill to perform this trick, simple though it may be. But to do it as the finale after all of the other great tricks he has done was kind of cheap. This was good but not spectacular... and spectacular is what you need for a finale. I don't want to ruin anything for anyone so spoiler alert but he definitely isn't switching the cups, look at Penn and Teller's cups and balls routine if you want to really see how its done.
never switched the cup, the extra's were between the cups. he turns the cups as he places them so you don't see the ball fall down. it's just slick hands, no magic. I've seen this trick broken down in slow motion, so I know where to look. half the stuff is under the table or in his pocket. smooth, but nothing new.
SPANISH Really ? I can not believe I did not realize ... I could see all his movements from the beginning hid the green ball in the basos then changed and finall the ball ultim big vergde put it when I pull the previous ball, as they may not they realized that that stupid, and that I saw him without putting pause
So by keeping balls in your pockets and using the story to mask the fact he would put the ball in when the cup left the table top he won a million dollars.
I feel bad for those who say "this is how you do it" and give a lesson. You people will NEVER understand the true meaning behind magic. Its not about exposing an act. You're telling truth I love watching magic tricks.
I love how people keep telling "oh its just a trick you can see this and that" OF COURSE IT IS MORONS, how about you do this yourself without messing up once instead of complaining that it's "rubbish"

Man, this is one of the first tricks that I learned o.O I was impressed by the other tricks he did, but not this one...
This guy is talented, But how the hell did he win with the fucking cup and balls trick.
because it was entertaining , people don't care if its basic. They just care about how entertaining it was.
he won by his presentation
+GInKoleT xx that presentation tho, i'm just here to rewatch it again and again
because it takes "balls" to do it.
Loved the bit where he said "what a di-despicable person" Cracked me up so damn hard it did :D
i guess when Penn and Teller tell u exactly how this trick is done, watching it as a "grand finale" isnt it so hot
This was so cool and his presentation was really, really, good!!! Great Job!
Shame he left his lamest trick for the finale...all his ones before this were a lot better...still a fun guy to watch! :)
Yeah I know how the whole trick works with there being more cups under table with the tennis balls and there being four balls at the start but there no way I can move my hands fastest enough to exchange cups without getting caught.
+it aint obeasy Wrong. Look up Penn and teller clear ball and cups, they show how its done.
Look it up. they got the vid in slow motion to where you can see him grabbing another cup and they showed how he did it.
+it aint obeasy look up Penn and tellers clear balls and cups
+it aint obeasy here I'll link it too you in a later comment
HE IS THE BEST!!! love you matt franco
TALENT all right the whole package excellent I'm impressed.
Easy trick, but he does it incredibly nice and its entertaining to watch! :D
Holkeeen i bet you wouldn't be able to do it.
Timothy Zouch but thousands of magicians can do it, this trick really isn't special
It is the oldest trick in the book lol
Wow, wow, wow!!! This guy entertains us and makes us laugh in amazement with the oldest magic trick in history! ...Yes, he's that good! his tricks are too cheap but the way he present that was awesome always smiling
because of that he won this competition
I love this guy
Rinchen Lhadron, for some reason I cant comment on your post. "

I went to one of his shows and he did this it was awesome!
I know this trick. A decade ago I've learned it from a magic set. But the bit changes and the story are great. I love the way, he modified it!
play your own at season 10 or just shut up and watch
THOSE RHYMES THO
This trick has been already done 10000... times
what trick hasnt dumbass
I can't be more agreed dude ..he is fukin boring and no show !
David Mayo The trick that made airplane, train, london bridge disappear...many tricks hasn't been done for 10000 times...
You are amazing
Amazing how you Do that stuff
I know where he hides those cards but I still mesmerized by it. I don't know, his story with magic are awesome!
You can literally see him put the tennis balls in every cup
you can see at the end with the tennis balls he puts the middle cup down and puts a tennis ball in it, then the right one down and put one in it, then the left one same thing, then when he picked up the middle one for the first tennis ball, he put another one in when he put it under the table again!
I know how he did the tennis ball bit, but the way he presented it was amazing
When I saw him pull out the cups and balls I was a bit disappointed but the key to his success of this trick is in its' presentation, it was snappy and fast and fun. Like doing a swing rendition of a Bon Jovi song.
He presents his tricks well... but you can easily see the movements
he was not only on of the magicgian but also a great rhymer
To all haters: Instead of trying to complain about the magic, just enjoy it.
no words just wow
That was some fast magic.
Amazing!
Penn and Teller preformed this trick.
This guy does the simplest tricks in the book. He doesn't execute that well. But people love him. Feed the sheep, I guess.
look closley to his hands and the "glasses"(im not good at english...from Belgium) he does a couple of vanish tricks (EZ REEDS) and he puts the glasses and his hand under the table close to the end....that is how the big tennisbals come
Happy Forever!!! on 2:46 he brings the big ball of mel b in the game.....on 3:08 you need to look very closely.....when he shows mel b he then does the cup quickly under the table.....that's where he brought howard in the game
also....in the beginning he used more than 3 smal balls to pull tose tricks
Good job
3:16 you could see how nervous he was by his hands shaking.
im really happy he won ♥
cute,talented,millionaire, the whole bundle (;
jkjk hahah
It takes alot of talent to pull that trick off. Everyone knows that its all in the slight of hand. But i bet no one here would be abe able to pull that off.
It's very easy, but looking awesome ;)
I knew how the trick was done, but he does it so good
OMG...he has talent
crazy sleight of hands
that is sooo nice
2:13 I GOT YOU MAT HAHAHAH LOOK AT HIS LEFT HAND HE DROP THE BALL
Love agt
2:16-2:19 you can see when he slightly opens the the top cups to let the ball fall down
I already knew this But the story telling is good
in 2:15 you can actually see the trick but i sill love him...
the small ball is pure hand speed trick.
But when he turn to the big balls, it's quiet obvious he pick it out from under the table.
But who cares, that what makes magic, "magic"
Just enjoy
I totally saw him put that ball under the cup
I can do every part of that trick, except for the story the ending and most of everything else
it only requires speed and know the process of the magic to do it
+hansel dick Go win then champion
Watch closely and you could see how he did all of these
I don't know if it's me but I saw something moved off the table at 2:30-2:40 it looks like he was moving the cups and at the same time some silver piece flew out
tru pro, gr8 nite
2.43 he puts the ball into his pocket, but he doesn't have any pockets in his jacket
how are there 328k views when there are only 300k ppl in the world
You are Dumb... There is way more than that in the world there's like 8 billion people in the World!
Champion nious I don't think so. Do some research and you'll find only 300k. oh hey is right.
Either way. People can watch videos more then once and it will count as another view. Doesn't matter how much people there are.
troll
I can't believe he won haha. His hands were shaking and he didn't thought of getting cups with a little dimple at the bottom to hold the balls. He almost dropped those balls. The trick itself is centuries old but the way he brought it was nice with a story but its not a million dollar act. AGT is going downhill with talents.
cant believe he won with simple tricks. magician that watch this would be pissed lol
Is he related to James Dave and Tom Franco
I'm pretty sure he pulled that trick just to be ironic. Considering that's oldest tricks in magic, impressive to have the balls for it.
How did he beat smoothini
he won because of his presentation chill
This is so common !!!
His loads could not be any more obvious. If you want to see how this trick should be done, take a look at Tommy Wonder or Ricky Jay..
I now know what you do to do the magic trick.
I dare someone to do the cup and balls magic with a sleevless shirt and a pants or shorts without any pocket
Amen Matt Franco your good at your skills:) you have the stuff as Christian illusionist magician bob scofield says if someone has good talent then they have the stuff :) InChrist allways chubby billpage illusionist magician in fun:)
Bill page check out Collins key!
he is changing da cups while talking
I do find when I see a trick "I've seen before" (even if it's a different method), I find it hard to pay attention. I'm not a performer, so I cannot appreciate the skill and ability. As far as I know, all magicians are skilled. So I look for something new.
lol did u see his hand go under the table its so funny
actually if u wanna know how the big balls come in end see the video carefully he is the the glass inside the table and he is putting the ball inside the glass
Did anyone check under the table?
he switched the cup 3 times ...too obvious
Did you win 1million$?
dude this is the oldest trick in the book. cups and balls no changes in the cups trust me this is actually very easy
CzarAice01 ok if its so easy you do so easy tricks and win AGT
nathan wong seriously dude, this is the oldest trick in the book, (amateur magician here) try to look for gazzo magic you'll see a better performance of this trick , and he didn't even fool penn and teller because like I said , If you do magic , you probably know how this is done, now i can explain everything he did here but I won't . you'll laugh at yourself when you find out how this is done . but he did a SPLENDID job , this is AWESOME , but this is old

true ,the trick is old and i dont know how to do it . he got to be the lucky or maybe we are dumb but i rather say hw was lucky
2:39 you can probably see when he didn't take the ball :D
It really and truly does take a lot of skill to perform this trick, simple though it may be. But to do it as the finale after all of the other great tricks he has done was kind of cheap. This was good but not spectacular... and spectacular is what you need for a finale. I don't want to ruin anything for anyone so spoiler alert but he definitely isn't switching the cups, look at Penn and Teller's cups and balls routine if you want to really see how its done.
Matt and mel-b then, should make it happen
never switched the cup, the extra's were between the cups. he turns the cups as he places them so you don't see the ball fall down. it's just slick hands, no magic. I've seen this trick broken down in slow motion, so I know where to look. half the stuff is under the table or in his pocket. smooth, but nothing new.
he took the balls under the shelf...
Yo stop hating
This ball thing was in the criss angel magic kit 😂
This was too obvious! You can see each step clearly.
He switched the cups a lot
pause at 2:56 or 2:57 and you see the third ball come from his hand
still amazing and awesome but i did catch a few things
but only a few
People look at 2:15. He throw the ball from hand....
2:40 his hand from under the table starts to put the tenis balls in. it looks so obvious
he's changing the bottle all the time
u can easily see him putting the balls in the cup one by one. I really logged his presentation but there was no such thing as trick
howd he do dat
This is not trick he made, its extremely old. If you want to learn this trick youtube Penn & Teller cups and balls...
slick but not seamless. i see what you did there. #goodbyemagic
there are actually 4 balls, but damn he's so genius
5 actually if you look
2:39 he didnt take out the yellow ball
SPANISH
Really ? I can not believe I did not realize ... I could see all his movements from the beginning hid the green ball in the basos then changed and finall the ball ultim big vergde put it when I pull the previous ball, as they may not they realized that that stupid, and that I saw him without putting pause
just notice from 2:11 to 2:14 :D
he even beat david and leeman?? but it's ok his presentation is actually good
So by keeping balls in your pockets and using the story to mask the fact he would put the ball in when the cup left the table top he won a million dollars.
