Brad- I LOVE your enthusiasm! I'm glad they are waiting until it is ready. As much as we all want this in our hands, like you said it important to get it right. I am very excited and cannot wait to test it out! Thanks for a great review.
I’ve been waiting for your review. Thank you, love your enthusiasm for this new “Beast” I do have a deposit down at my local dealer. Don’t mind waiting an extra month or two for a perfected machine, gives me more time to gather my down payment$$$. Glad to hear you mention the beefed up embroidery module, I really wanted to hear about this. You are wrong about the outline font I really enjoy using it.
As always, a great job Brad. Thank you for sharing what you learned at BLT. The stitch regulator looks great. Using a ruler foot (if developed) with acrylic templates might be an issue as the regulator does not have any clearance in the back and the sensor is at the side. Understood about availability of the Radiance due to bug fixes, but glad that Baby Lock won't put a less than perfect product out until it is ready. On a separate note, my understanding is that the Applaud (decorative topstitch) should be available for shipping now. Is this correct?
Yes i think it will be impossible to develop a ruler foot for this regulator. They said they will try. Applaud is out and I have a floor model and 1 in stock with 10 more in a truck on its way.
Brad, you do a great job educating us. You know SO much. I'm so impressed with your thoroughness. A few questions. I thought that the baby lock and Brother machines were basically the same. Will the Aveneer have the same release schedule as the Baby Lock? I thought it was coming out sooner but my interest would be in the Baby Lock. I'm comparing the Baby Lock to the Bernina. So you've convinced me that the stitch regulator is just as good. But can it accommodate a ruler foot. Also, does the baby lock have an enlargement feature for stitches? Up to what %.
Same schedule on the Avaneer. Won't be any sooner than the Radiance. There's no way to use a ruler foot with the StitchSync on the Radiance, and it has nothing like the Jumbo stitch feature on the 990, though it does have many premade stitches that get up around 40mm or so.
Love all your videos but now I am confused do I get this machine or the Bernina 990. If you had to choose which one which one would you get. Appreciate any insight. Thank you
So Brad, I own a Solaris nd am thinking about trading in on Radiance. However, after going through all the questions and replies, there is no mention about Janome Continental M17. Can you share how you would compare the Radiance to the CM17? Thanks so much.
Nope, and I don't see how they'll be able to make it work to do a ruler foot. I was told they are working on it but can't see how it would be possible. Maybe I'm wrong though, who knows.
Awesome review and great information, love your videos. You made we re-think; however I currently own a Solaris with all upgrades, but doubt that I will make the move to Radiance due to MRSP. Will keep watching your updates.
Apples and oranges tbh. This will be easier to pick up and learn for someone who is already in the baby lock ecosystem. Same goes for the 990 and people who already have berninas. Each machine is very good at all aspects but if you put a gun to my head i would rather embroider on this machine and sew and quilt on the 990. Best thing to do is get both.
@EllicottCitySewVac Why do you say you'd rather sew on the Bernina 990? I'm seriously considering buying a Solaris, never have had a Bernina sewing machine or baby lock. I will mostly be doing garment sewing, but I really want to play around with embroidery.
@@anitraanderson931 Like I said, both are great machines. It comes down to what's important to you in a machine. The Baby lock is user friendly, not finicky about being cleaned and oiled, and has tons of cool creative embroidery functions built right in without using software. Sewing on the Bernina is more precise and you have more control over your stitches, the presser feet are higher quality, the machine overall is heavier duty but it also has to be kept cleaned and oiled to a higher degree and it doesn't have as much cool on board embroidery stuff. Try them both. See what feels better. If the dealer won't let you sew on the floor model yourself, go somewhere else. If you have one shop where the people are more competent, friendly or give better benefits then get whichever one they sell. Both companies make fantastic machines, but it doesn't matter if your local shop is staffed by clowns.
Great video. You really hit all the important stuff that no one else seems too. Very helpful. Thank you

THANKS BRAD!!! This was GREAT!
Thank you Brad! Excellent review/demo! I’m even more excited to get my LE machine ❤️❤️
nancy would of loved this machine.
Great information Brad. Once again you are pulling on my temptation strings. Might have to consider trading in my precious Solaris.
WOW! A great review Brad.
Best review ever!! Thank you!!!

If you have palette it will still be built in to there at least!

Good video thanks nice
Sorry, Brad, i got to play with the sync stitch as well. And totally agree . Itis just as good as the BSR if not a little smoother!
I think its better than standard bsr and just as good as bisr on the 990

Better get both just to be sure

No idea. I'm not a Janome dealer so I have no experience with it whatsoever.
@@EllicottCitySewVac thanks for your response anyway.
Hi! I was wondering if the Radiance System will interact with the Scan-N-Cut???
sure it just uses pes same as a brother
Brad us great,
Can quilting rulers be used with the stitch regulator??
Nope, and I don't see how they'll be able to make it work to do a ruler foot. I was told they are working on it but can't see how it would be possible. Maybe I'm wrong though, who knows.
How many new Edge to edge designs have they added?
5 new edge to edge, 5 new sashings
@@EllicottCitySewVac Any pictures of what they are? Love my Solaris E2E, but looking forward to more designs. Might have to do a trade in.

Only questions I have that you didn’t cover. Is the embroidery format staying PES? And will the same hoops from Solaris work on new machine? Thanks
Yes and Yes
