I was 17 in 1976 when this movie was released, and I saw it at the drive-in theater. This song is on the soundtrack for this iconic movie for the culture called 'Car Wash.' The cast of the movie is loaded with some of the BEST comedians EVER. I saw Rose Royce this past January on The Soul Train cruise, and they were amazing. Hey, get your car washed today. . . 🎬 🚗 🕺💃🎶🤗
I'm an older white British guy who saw this film on it's release and we were in awe at the gorgeous black ladies (Not many where I lived) and just the whole American thing going on, as we had seen the negative stuff with LA riots and it was great to see a more positive and happy side. I recommend watching Car Wash at least once
I frequented roller rinks & bowling alleys to meet up with the young ladies. Our make-out spot was a water tower or "The Tree" (a huge elm that covered what went on by its trunk). I feel sorry for those that never wooed a young lady from afar by jamming to 'Bounce, Rock, Roll, Skate'. You HAD to have game back in the day!
We met any and everywhere. The park, mall, skating rink, school, in church. We had to talk to each other. Get over your lack of social skills. It was a difficult, awkward time but you eventually grew up and became more confident.
lol back then McDonalds wasn’t fresh it was McDonalds 😂, back then there were so many Clubs in Los Angeles, partying was a thing, Soul Train was shot in the KTLA Studios in LA, and everyone was partying, There were so many concert from the artist of the time, hanging at Venice Beach, Skating, it was not this laidback boring existence, it was so much fun, so don’t let what you perceive be your reality about what was happening then, it was a blast, and I’m sure the other big cities throughout the country experienced the same fun “back in the day” people talked to each other in person, not through text and email, when you partied back in the day you partied, you would leave the Club or party, sweating, male and female, it was a party and you danced until you were sweaty, the “Good old day”
Come on Maj! You gotta understand. Just cause she curbed him a few times doesn’t mean she’s no good. But the choice is hers. Can’t you imagine how many she gave a chance and they acted a whole ass! She didn’t want to just give in, she heard all that before. Then when he broke it down how sincere he was and said he’d been trying hard but was not going to anymore (because the rejection hurts). She said alright, I’ll give you a chance! What’s wrong with that! He betta had treated her right too! 😂🤣😂
That’s Car Wash movie classic movie and Rose Royce did the soundtrack.
