    So amazing project 🤩 It's my dream to build an electric van and travel all around the world.
    Tip: if you have a battery higher than 48vdc, you can use directly all your chargers, induction cooker, an even inverter fridge without any additional inverter from DC to AC.
    I made tests and its works awesome, because in every charger AC turns to DC. And you don't need to do it multiple times.

    dude you're freak ... I love that ... you're an inspiration for all of us, for three reasons:
    1. because you took the iconic VW T2 (surfer van) for the project
    2. because you have the guts to go for it, even if you're not a rocket scientist
    3. you're not afraid to fail, and this, for me, it's what really counts in life

    We have an actual Tesla and its range is 320 miles. We've used it for road trips of up to 1800 miles (one way). you need to recharge at a supercharger every 250 miles or so for 30 minutes or so. So you go get a drink and go to the bathroom and/or eat a meal and you're good to go.

    I know this was months ago, but series hybrid is very efficient. A ICE running at constant load/speed makes it maximally efficient, you can plumb in a real car exhaust to minimise noise, and this would give you big range with a small battery. Best of both worlds.

    Sustainability is awesome and an incredible goal! What people do need to understand, however, is it costs more fossil fuels to make a kilowatt of electricity for this van than it does to run it on gasoline even if it gets 5 MPG. Not that it's not a good goal, we all need to understand it's NOT fossil fuel-free just because it comes from an electric power source.

    I agree that electric motor driven vehicles are the future. I do not feel the same for batteries. they are difficult to make on more demand and the other problem is that you have to charge them and that is another demand on the power grid. Another problem is that conventional engines last longer than the batteries. it be much better if the car had a generator to supply the electric motor. basically a electric car without a battery

    Yes!! A classic electric VW Bus. Now we're talking. If you're going to spend this much, might as go with a 1967 with the micro windows. Btw Louis, I sent you an email about checking out my digital music, hopefully you might be able to use some of it in your future videos.

      @@pauleric8799 thats so interesting, do you have a source for that calculation? Sustainable energy is definitely the way to go, I think people are becoming more carbon conscious too.

    • @hugopires2158
      @hugopires2158 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pauleric8799 It really depends on how much you drive and how long you keep the car for, but in most cases the electric one pollutes much less. No doubt that the production of an electric car is more carbon intensive but considering that each time you drive a gas car it pollutes much more than the production of electricity needed for an electric one, several studies have shown that after some time they are equivalent and after that point the electric one becomes much more sustainable

    I have always loved seeing old vehicles being restored...but now unless they are being upgraded to electric, restorations seem useless. This is great.

    this is a cool concept for bringing classic cars back to life its just it sucks that you wont get the engine rumble so id personally would rather slap a hellcat or an ls into one
