Excellent!! "End hunger". :-) This is the right SCALE for projects that need to be initiated to really make a difference in the world. P.S. The "backslash" \ character is not the same character as "slash" / character being used in URLs...
There's already enough food for everyone. You just need to distribute it fairly and stop wasting it in rich countries AND most importantly recognise it is not yet another comodity but a basic right and a requirement for survival.
How much world hunger can be attributed to corrupt political systems interfering with citizens' ability to produce and manage their own food supply? Technological and market solutions will work only to the extent that people are free to implement them.
The political/human factor will always be a problem. Technology has to develop to the point where food can be made much more abundantly, much more cheaply and with a much lower ecological impact so the 'human factor' is powerless to impede universal access. Vertical farming shows great promise. But it's nowhere near able to produce all of our crops at scale.. right now it can basically only grow light, leafy greens. It's really scary that indoor farming isn't where it needs to be considering the global water and soil crises.
The answer to what? Animal agriculture is completely unsustainable right now. It's taxing on water and soil more than anything else. And meat and dairy demand globally is projected to double in the coming decades. Ideally people will change their behaviour and meat and dairy demand will decrease. But that's not going to happen, so we're going to have to use vast amounts of energy (nuclear? fusion? lol) to desalinate water for factory-farmed cattle who eat grains produced by vertical-farming. Joy! Solutions lie in technological advancements, but the world is sick and technology will be exploited to nurture and encourage our sick ways. It's a shame if you ask me.
Also, if technology got to the point where we can produce milk and eggs that are biologically identical to what we have today, but without the need for conscious animals producing them, would you consider that fake? Because that's where technology is headed.
Such a good reader.
Sierra Harvest is a great place to start.

I hope you don't think fake eggs and milk are going to be the answer.
